Feels like I've been visiting TC less and less these days. I miss everyone :(

For the poll, I've been bitten but haven't ordered yet. The thought of purchasing is there but physically purchasing it, not yet.

Right now, I'm just enjoying a cup of silver needles. A nice way to relax on a Friday tea day.
Tea tea tea... I like tea...

Yes, I ordered some already, but I think i'm going to go a bit lower key than last year. Last year I ended up not even drinking all of it. (I think I have a package or two still unopened).

One way to fix that!!! 8)

Speaking of shincha (I was careful not to use this term in the question/poll), SHINCHA is on its way to my house officially from Yuuki-Cha. Kagoshima Magokoro which is an organic Yutaka Midori. Soooo, in honor of this event, I am sipping 2008 harvest of this sencha. Still flavorful and lively. I am curious how the shincha will compare?

Last few years I had completely, I mean COMPLETELY run out of sencha weeks before shincha, so this will be a bit different having comparisons of the same sencha from 2 harvests on hand. A new experience for me.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

Yes, I ordered some already from Darjeeling as I appreciate so much Indian spring harvest for its "green" notes, and I think I am going to place a pre-order in these days for shincha. The fact is that I know I am going to wait sooo long before tasting my new teas on arrival.... I hate Italian Postal Service!!!

I'm not really into the new harvest hype since I'm more interested in oolong's and pu-erh this year which aren't the best right after harvest. Actually I just ordered 1 kg of last years dancong. Though I am waiting for the 2009 Ying De Gold and I'll order some Darjeelings for my gf. :D

Me too! Me too! :D

I've heard that shincha that comes out later in the season is often better but I just couldn't resist. I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it!

I really enjoyed the sample Trioxin sent me last year of the Farmers Shincha from Hibiki-an (?). Has anyone seen if they plan to offer the same tea again this year? Was it karigane?

I don't see any reason why they would not sell it this year.
Farmer's shincha is aracha.

Keemun Mao Feng Xiang Luo and Darjeeling Risheehat SFTGFOP1 this evening.

I don't buy into the hype.

Sincha will have to wait. I have enough of my foundation teas to last a while. Life is now in "upheaval mode" and buying into the new green tea harvest is far down on my list of Things that Must Be Done.

I will, however, keep an eye on the Darjeeling 1st and 2nd and (like Herb_Master) on upcoming China/Taiwan oolong harvests.

Right now, I am lucky to get one decent cup of tea per day.

I voted "other" because I have not been bitten -- but my wife has -- by the Shincha bug. But yes, I surprise-ordered some for her (O-cha's Midori and Kirameki). By chance, on the same day, she also ordered some from O-cha -- the Fukamushi, the Midori, and ... I forget the name of the other one... Hatsumi?

Today's cup: an unknown Taiwanese rolled oolong.. low oxidation.. from an unlabeled, forgotten Ziploc in my desk drawer. It's not bad!

Sal, I can't see your pictures, because Photobucket is blocked by the company I work for. If *that* ain't enough reason to quit......!

Apparently some folks in Scotland have already been bitten by the new puppy bug.

I believe it's known as chihuahua-cha:
