Now that I've ordered my 2009 shincha I am beginning to look at the 2009 Long Jing. Speaking of which, has anyone tried the 2009 Long Jing from TeaSpring?

Yutaka Midori first thing this morning and now bancha in my cup.

Definitely have a desire to order some shincha.

Houjicha Gold this afternoon. Very refreshing.
We were fated to pretend.

Then you cerainly should! 8)

I cannot think of a singular particular tea at the moment that I feel I MUST HAVE. That is pretty unusual for me. Just shincha in general.

Began the TeaDay with a new bag of Chiran Supreme from O-Cha. SweeTea was there for the grand opening. Pyrit and the Lil Bit hung out at the TeaTable. :)

Yes, perhaps some fancy Pu Erh.
Had some Darjeeling #22. Looking forward to jasmine Silver Needle.

I thought i would share some of my daughter's photos from The Journey of Chanoyu
An International Symposium on the Tea Culture of Japan featuring the pottery of legendary Tsujimura Shirō. These was also a tea ceremony by Sen So-oku, the 15th-generation heir to the Mushanokoji Senke tea lineage.

I had a Li Shan from a vendor I met at last year's WTE this afternoon, shared with my wife. This was a special LiShan that this vendor would have every day in her tea shop in Taiwan.

Next up was back to Japanese tea, Fukamushi Maki from Den's.

Currently, SLT of both.

It's always nice to share a special tea with a loved one.

We all have such a special love of tea, that sharing it is a great experience.
I hope to do a lot of sharing next weekend as daughteroftheKing is coming for
a visit! TeaSharing and TeaShopping and a trip to LA!

In my cup this afternoon, some of the last of a special tea for me, my vintage wiry from TeaSource. No longer on the website, I guess I should inquire.

I always want more tea :) Just got a shipment from Jing with 2009 Long Jing, Ming Ding Huang Ya (yellow) and some aged sheng pu-erh, and I still want MORE!
On my list now is more pu-erh (I'm following recommendations to try lots of samples). So much tea, so little me...

Started the day with some 2008 Long Jing (trying to finish up the old batch in a hurry), then had some Dang Cong from New Century Tea Gallery, and now contemplating more Long Jing (would be the last bits of a can I bought in China last November).

teashionista, that's a beautiful gaiwan, can you post a larger pic of it?

I forgot to mention it was 94 degrees here today, I wager one of the hottest spots in the nation. I decided to brew up more of the vintage wiry over ice. Very nice on ice. I may not sleep tonight, but, I'll be cooler!

I really want the Yutaka Midori Shincha from O-cha. I have been wanting more of it since I ran out of it, but have been waiting until the new harvest comes out. There are definitely a few others on that list, like the Glendale Handmade Nilgiri from TeaSource and a few oolongs that I sampled in the box pass, but the YM is currently my top craving.

Currently in my cup is mugicha that I roasted this evening. It came out pretty tasty with a sweet caramel, toasty grain flavor.

Oh, yeah...I ordered my YM sincha today and fukamushi too.
And I want to order this Ceylon (321 Ceylon Vithanakande FBOPF1) from specialteas, but I need to use up some Ceylon that I'm already working on.

I've had this Ceylon in my cup all day (using up almost all of my sample).

Joy,

I had some of that about a year ago. It was a little more citrus than an Assam and not as malty, but a strong full flavor. I enjoyed it quite a bit. My understanding is that it comes from the Ratnapura region of Sri Lanka where full-bodied, dark teas are the norm.

Is that considered a high mountain Ceylon?
