Most likely no, I wouldn't make a separate tea room since I enjoy drinking tea while doing other things so a room designated for tea would rarely get used - or else it would be turned into an office as I brought stuff into the tea room to occupy myself while I drink tea.

Earl Grey Bravo in my cup this morning. Mmmm.

Not me.

No need for a dedicated tea room in the house, although you would want the home to have a generally serene ambiance that would invite casual or formal imbibing of tea.

Zero interest in a commercial tea room venture.

Irish Breakfast this am; not sure about later, maybe green/rose sencha.

Assuming that "tea room" means "a place in your home dedicated to the enjoyment of tea"...

YES YES YES! And you can bet that I'd be building a walled tea garden with traditional path, a full Japanese four-and-a-half tatami-mat tearoom, a decent-sized mizuya (preparation room), machiai, kochikake ... the whole megira.

Guess I'd better buy a 6/49 ticket today. All this talk of tearooms is making me wistful

I think I would. I would add a four-seasons room and would landscape differently to increase the beauty and solitude of the space. I am also sure that my wife would turn it into a yoga room.

Jing's everyday dancong in my cup this morning! Delicate, soothing, and fragrant, it's just what I needed.

That's no way to live! Some bags of Yunnan are pretty good. Whole Foods sells Adagio teas, at least they do around Boston, so you should be able to get something drinkable. Their yunnan gold and golden monkey are pretty good, and their bags of Wuyi will help pacify an oolong monkey if you happen to have one on your back.

For how long are you in exile?

I would definitely have a dedicated tea room in my house, with a MASSIVE Chinese tea table, beautiful Yixing tea jars, and Ming Dynasty wares...
In fact, I even know where to get my tea table from :) A couple of weeks ago I drove by an Asian furniture importer in town, and they were having a sale. In the very back of the showroom they had a beautiful Chinese solid wood tea table--it was at least 7ft long, and probably 300lbs... The price was right, too (it's been sitting in the showroom for a couple of years). The only problem is that it would have to replace my dining table, and that would not fly with my DH ;)

Drinking coffee today--trying to deal with sleep deprivation.

Hmm a special tea room sounds like a very nice idea. Mine would be complete with proper incense, etc. And I hope to invite fellow tea lovers too. What a great idea. I'm ready. Now I just need to find an apartment big enough in this city to do that. And then maybe pay someone else to keep it in pristine cleanliness ready for guests haha

Today I am following my bliss with a new discovery: an organic Golden Yunnan with a very rich smokiness to it to which I am increasingly addicted!

Hmmmm... I wonder what inspired the question today? Anything to do with my post under intro?

Honest guys, a room dedicated to tea is what we have in store, we are not independently wealthy nor have we won the lotto, drat! Just have plans to expand our tea enjoyment together and with others.

In my cup, Chiran Supreme!

In my land of infinite wealth I would. And probably hire a few really cute girls to make and serve me tea in this tearoom.

Definitely not.

I enjoy drinking tea outside so If I had a tearoom it would be like a storage closet for holding tea not for drinking.

What I really want is a nice tea tray with a built in burner so that I could plug in out on the portch to make tea there.

unknown Oolong formosa this morning

Maybe. The tearoom would be combined with a reading/art room with space to do yoga, stretch, or meditate. One wall would be floor to ceiling book shelves for not only books, but would have at least a few shelves of tea ware. A nice overstuffed chair with a reading lamp and a tea table nearby and everything that I would need to make a nice cup of tea all in the same place, along with space for my sewing and drawing supplies and my yoga mat...now that would be nice.

Currently in my cup is the rest the gyokuro sample from yuuki-cha.

Just don't put mirrors on the floor of your tearoom, yeah?

A tea room for sure, could also be a reading room, storage room, display room, collecting dust room, and a safe from hiding all the teaware/tea that I don't want my spouse to discover
