I am struggling for a decision between China and Cuba. Besides, I do need to finish a lot of work at home. The debating and planning part is both painful and joyful!
I am going to start my day with some left over da wu ye dancong from yesterday

Your vacation agenda makes us all jealous!xuancheng wrote:This summer I have lots of vacation responsibilities.
I picked Tea Vacation because July is dedicated to tea.
August, I should be going on a cruise!
After the 'cruise,' I will be going to the mountains.

Maybe we will get in the same regions and can meet up for some tea!

Hahahahahahha!
The Surreal: Surely the news has percolated into the Tea Cave by now.
We are in the midst of a global pandemic.
The idiots at CDC and WHO failed to issue critical travel advisories and restrictions early on; they were needed to forestall rapid spread of this new strain with very unusual epidemiological characteristics. It's now in the Southern Hemisphere and percolating into Asia.
I sure as hell wouldn't be thinking of travel plans. I would be reviewing survival mode plans, if I were you.
The Mundane: Keemun up next in my cup.

Sal and Herb_Master thank you both as always for the great photos
My vacation time is usually spent caught up between my husband's work, our relatives & friends and trying to relax (and especially sleep) when possible. Vacation comes punctuated in between those things
However work and relatives span a great distance (we live about 3,000 miles in between our families on either side)... so we will be visiting family, friends, and attending conferences and assorted other work-related things to do in Greece this summer.. Later the same things will take place in California
I always take teas with me to Greece. Last summer my mother in law had some complex health problems and I spent three weeks in the hospital every day. A Lion's Peak LungJing from Tea Gallery saved my life in July along with a little device which has been discussed here
One interesting note: there is a small but growing Japanese community in Athens, Greece (especially students). One Japanese woman married to a Greek man has a store near the place I stay where she sells tea from Ippodo teas. Near her there is a very enterprising young man with a store exclusively devoted to selling a variety of teas from around the world, and I hope he's still there this year. There is also a very rapidly growing Chinese community but I did not manage to find interesting teas. There's a tradition in Greece of tea-drinking, especially a variety of herbals for health, so it's kind of interesting from the cultural perspective as well. There is a wide variety of teas from everywhere for sale in supermarkets. Immigrant communities from Eastern Europe also means there are varieties of tea I don't see in the US.
If I order green tea in a cafe, often it might be from a company called Dilma and I'm not sure what kind of green this is - however, iced, it really does cool in the hot weather. I think Dilma specializes in Ceylon teas but I'm not sure.
Re Yosemite: I see that photo of Half dome and think, "Home!" I grew up in Central Cal, and I hope this year there is time to visit.
Today a "Szechuan Imperial" from ChaMaGuDao. First brew... I need to give this one more time next brew. Scent is lush and strong like deep ruddy caramel. Yum!

Spot, I'd feel braver tackling Half Dome than that roller coaster!
We might make a trip to Denver to visit my dad this summer, or a short trip to the Oregon coast. Other than that, I have no real vacation plans or $$$ to go much of anywhere, which is a bummer, because I have five more weeks of vacation time to use this year!
Sweet Flower Oolong from TeaSource in my cup this morning.

My vacation(s) sounds extravagent at first, but I am going home from China after a 2 years stay, so I am having a super long tea vacation right before I go, and then when I see my friends who I haven't seen in 2 years, we have to go on another vacation. Then I have to find a real job afterwards, so its not as great as it might seem at first.gingko wrote:Your vacation agenda makes us all jealous!xuancheng wrote:This summer I have lots of vacation responsibilities.

In terms of meeting up, we have no excuse not to! July in China, or any time after in MASS.
@ Drax
Were you expecting white tea with the BaiMuDan? Its a Wuyi cultivar which is made into White tea as well as Yancha, which might explain your confusion.
茶也醉人何必酒?
My dream is for Italy, but I since there are no plans in the works as of yet, we most likely will stay home. But there is always room for tea in the plans wherever we go.
In my cup this morning: Sun-Moon Lake Black tea from Upton.
That is; it WAS in my cup for about 1 minute. Now it is down the drain.
Disgusting witha Capitol D.
Have a nice day everyone - off to brew better tea!

Oh Victoria, my goodness! I'm so sorry that wasn't good tea! (Now I'm still curious to try it!)
Just popped in again to tell all you film buffs that if you want to see a classic, "Stagecoach" is on TCM right now. It made John Wayne a star. I'm of the generation that rather ridiculed him and his views, but if you can't see what made him a star in this film, you're blind
Anyway, it's a great ensemble film & story, a gem

My destination – California! Can't wait, I'm so looking forward to good Mexican food, great weather, museum visits, hiking trips...
Great photos everyone!
Keemun Rhapsody in my cup. Yesterday had Hashiri Shincha (09) from Den's Tea which I enjoyed very much. However, when I asked my DH if he liked it he said that lawn clippings are lawn clippings
