It has some relevance for me I don't get much of an effect from caffeine but a full gong fu session before bed with some hongcha or the like can have me staring at the ceiling for a while.

Well, I'll 'fess up to being a die-hard caffeine addict. If tea did not have caffeine, I'd probably have to switch to something else that did.

Caffeine is important to me because I don't drink teas that have too much of it, except for gyokuro which is now a special occasion tea for me.

Drinking Jing's DHP this morning.

Caffeine never is that important, however, taste is more important than anything. Quality has a lot to do with that.

Caffeine's not that important--I'm mostly immune to its effects anyway. I regularly drink tea right up to the point I slide into bed (or fall asleep on the couch watching a movie!). I just like tea.

That said, having a second cup of a strong Assam blend this morning. I'm a touch groggy. The bold flavor helps.

Ooh. UPS guy just dropped off my ToT order! New serving tray, a sample each of Nilgiri blue and Black Dragon, and a tin of their strong Rainforest black.

I like caffeine so much that I start my day with a cup of coffee. I start drinking tea after lunch and continue until bedtime. Though often I just steep the same pot of puerh over and over so that there is probably little caffeine by nighttime.

I am not indifferent to caffeine in tea. But if I need a real strong pick me up...I go for Image.
It has the added benefit/detriment of sugar. And no, I will not put sugar in my tea. The energy from tea tends to slowly release over time and I like that. But I too cannot drink tea after dinner or I will not sleep well at all.

Hmmm, caffeine adds an element to tea that without it, tea would not be tea. It adds an element to taste, to feeling, and it is certainly a double edged sword to be respected and not abused.

I do believe I would feel differently about tea if it did not have caffeine, however fortunately I do not have to worry about this since it does.

Also like many tea drinkers, I can enjoy it much of the day, but the nights must suffer without it.

Began the TD with Sae Midori from O-Cha. The caffeine of morning teas does not seem to really impact me as I could have slept after drinking it. SweeTea took a cat nap after her fair share, while Pyrit, Koi, Wulong, and Ceylon took caffeine free cat naps. Gandalf was exiled from the TeaTable after sticking his tail into my tea ...

Me, too, Erika!

I love the taste of tea and I would probably still drink tea occasionally, but not as much as I do now.

Enjoying iced Raspberry Lime Rickey this morning.

I would have to agree with my DH on his take on caffeine, however, I am one of those rare ones that can sleep after caffeine!

Looking forward to sharing another FF Darjeeling sample this afternoon.

Hope everyone is have a TEArrific TeaDay! 8)

It's really not important,
Tea without cafeine is great because I can drink it as often as I want and at every moment of the day.

Milky oolong today : grrrrreat tea!

Not particulary important. I can do without the caffeine a lot of the time in fact, like when I'm craving for a black tea right before bed time.

Honeybush iced tea to start my day!

+1. I'm too sensitive to caffeine to drink much in the evening if I want to fall asleep within a reasonable time. Otherwise, I would have a steaming cup of something in my hand right now, for until now, I haven't had time for tea today
Sic transit etc.
