Beautiful and delish!
Poll vote: Very positive. A great addition to TeaChat ...
I too, have invited several potters to join. Still awaiting their arrival!
Victoria, did you show us your new Deishi Chawan? If not, pics pleeze!

I check everyday to see if we have some 'new potter members'. Hope the ones you invited check us out and decide to stay.
Currently in my cup, 3rd steep of Wonder Tea! This tea does not live up to it's hype. But I'll let DH tell you about it.

Hope everyone is having a TEArrific TeaDay.
.
I find the subforum quite encouraging to my own intentions to become an amateur potter. I actually just like messing with clay, but hey! I have also seen the artists quite willing to discuss their techniques and so on, which is always interesting.
Just a cup of flavoured black this morning (a gift). I still need to learn to steep blacks. Wishing I'd brought matcha equipment along on my visiting trip. Next time...

Gopaldhara "Wonder Tea" FF Darjeeling with DW. First go at this sample from the "A" team, I am failing to see the wonder or the high price that this generally sells for. Don't get me wrong, it is nice in all respects, but I was expecting Wow from Wonder Tea.
I will certainly be revisiting this sample a few more times.

It sure is a beauty! Is that your trademark mauvey/purple coloration in there?Victoria wrote:Well I'm on the run in and out today, no time for taking pics, but I can add the vendor photos. It's really a beauty. The showpiece of my collectionMrs. Chip wrote:Umm, matcha.

Thanks for the quick response. Looking forward to seeing your shots, which I know will do the color justice.
I really like the Artisan sub-forum. It helped me connect with a local potter, who I actually got to meet, chat with, and see all of his wares in person. Without the subforum, I would not have had that opportunity. I also love looking at all the pieces that are posted. Everything is so unique and beautiful.
Currently, I am going to attempt to coax more steeps out of the 90s Aged NanTou that I started yesterday.

i think its just swell
i got a great place to just hang out and express my self.
the people here are just swell.
everyone gives ideas freely and it seems that its an inspiration to some to produce more.
it is also in this increase in production added to suggestions from the community that i believe improvements in the craft has and will. the continued production of tea ware here in the US must go on and in a direction which the tea community can identify with.
you see i believe in the continued development of the identity of US tea ware. it may not have started here but when the number of people being exposed to it increases then its influence will reach fare and wide.
another benefit of this exposure is the continuation of an art that is found to be older than thought with each passing day.
i got a bowl and some macha and i am going to do real wisky things with them.
thanks chip for making this happen and thanks to the community for such great support.
