Just one YM sincha...I've got some fukamushi sincha supreme, but I haven't opened that one yet.

This morning in my cup 1/2 Ceylon Kenilworth and 1/2 Assam. Made a big pot, multiple steeps to make LOTS of iced...it is already HOT here today.

Have an awesome tea day!

I have 1 shincha open, 2 remaining Chinese greens, 1 yellow, 2 puerh cakes, at least 1 oolong, and maybe 15 FF Darjeelings, though I don't count those. At the moment I am drinking the shincha: Takumi from Zencha. This is the first Zencha tea I have had. I notice that Oni says he likes their Kiwami sencha more this year than the Takumi.

White tea in the photo: Silver Needles come from a special tea plant that has extra fat growth tips, the only part of the plant that is used to make the best quality Silver Needles tea.

Right now I am having a Green Tea with Boba. - Very addicting, I find I am always wanting to stop for one whenever I am out and about.

One tea open here, Yutaka Midori.

I also have a bag of Hou De's 2009 Spring "Tie Guan Yin" of NanTou PuZhong sitting in the tea corner of my kitchen, but it's yet to be opened.

Started today with some nondescript Ceylon OP which I suspect has been stored less than airtight, near both coffee and flavoured tea :? My Yunnan from that same shop smells and tastes similar to it. Won't be buying from them again.
For my next cup I switched to another Ceylon sample of better quality and no 'acquired odours'.

Right now I'm sipping pu erh, keeping track of the number of infusions to see how far it'll go.

A few weeks ago we were at one of the Asian markets in Portland and I bought three packages of tapioca pearls (green tea, rainbow, and black) thinking it would be fun to make bubble tea. Then I went to the bubble tea stand and bought some - the first few sips were okay, but I didn't like the texture of the boba. If only I had tried the tea BEFORE buying the pearls! Definitely a lesson learned. :)

Funny, my favorite part of bubble tea is the pearls... the tea is never very good, always too sweet and more like koolaid. I bought some black pearls at the asian market and my plan is to partially cook them and then finish them out directly in some tea so they'll be nicely infused with tea flavor... and then toss them into some iced tea. We'll see how it turns out. I have to find some bubble tea straws though.

Drinking some iced Darjeeling, which had some orange zest added to the leaves during steeping... wow, so good. Yes, I am on a zesting spree! It really perked up the 3rd infusion of some leaves that were starting to give up. Yummmm.

Sarah, that's exactly what I thought about how to make at home too. Where I go, I specify non-sweetened green tea w/large pearls, the tea is actually pretty good. But then this is CA not the mid-west. :)

We need to start picking up an extra straw each time we go in. Unless Geeber has those too. LOL

One of my friends made me some bubble tea the other day. The boba is different, but good though almost like gumish to me!!! You guys ever put them in a mango lassi? Absolutely delicious, even though its not quite the same as the tea

Making my first infusion of sae midori now.

Sorry, girls, no big straws here!
I may look for recipes and try some at home, but if that doesn't work out, you might get a package, Victoria!

Wonder how the boba will be after a nice soak in some rum. :P

I have a package of Ippodo's Uji Shincha open. I also have some shincha from o-cha that I have yet to open...

kymidwife, you should let us know how the bubble tea experimenting goes, particularly the part about finishing them off in tea... I totally love bubble tea.
