My family don't have the tradition of celebrating Father's Day or Mother's Day.

I recently like making green tea latte very much. Will make some soon :D

Began the TD with Gyokuro blend consisting of Suimei from Den's and a little of Sal's magic gyokuro which is now as valuable as its weight in gold ... only a few grams remain and it cannot be replaced. SweeTea would not miss this, while Pyrit and Wulong were just hanging out at the TeaTable.

Working on a Fukamushi Supreme tasting, so I am going to try this O-Cha offering for the first time this shincha in just a few minutes. :D

I knew there was a reason I picked cherry red for today's sencha background!

Having never lived in cherry country, u-pick cherries sound like a little bit of heaven on earth ... not to mention that delicious meal your DH is getting tonight!

Dang, I finally come up with something that achieves legendary status, and it totally unrepeatable!

Too bad for you, you could semi retire and just sell those leaves. I have never had gyo like that. You know, it is almost like it was fuka gyokuro???!!!??? I mean look at the small leaf particals and the sweetness.

O-Cha FUKAMUSHI Supreme from O-Cha is in my cup. First brewing of this shincha, quite good.

Ooh stop the cherry talk you!

Makes me miss the trees outside the house I grew up in. Huge black cherries which the birds mostly ate and nobody had the patience to allow to ripen enough...but still!

I've noticed I often pick cherry-flavoured things if available, something that has begun quite recently.

No tea for me today, just got back from a weekend in the woods camping with my girl scout troop (I'm a leader). Too tired to brew anything :P

I took some the other night, but it was windy and the light was weird. I'll get some more in a while if the rain holds off!

Chip & Sal: Here are some photos of our Cherries. If the wind would stop blowing, I could get some better ones, but I think you can get the idea from these.

Sriracha: The birds have been having themselves quite a feast!

O-cha Fukamushi Supreme for me this morning... one of my all time favorites. (As opposed to YM which is going in the trash). :)
It seemed to be an asamushi, as it passed the test of being able to be brewed in my kyusu with the clay ball shaped screen without making a complete and utter mess like fuka does. I am not sure of the quality, but the leaves look decent enough, comparable to the O-cha stuff that I have, not as many particles as the more deeply steamed teas with just a tad larger leaves. I am still working on the brewing parameters, but it seems good so far.

Cup is empty. I need something not caffeinated, but I haven't decided what yet.

O my gosh, you just walk up and pull them off the tree! Amazing. I could get pretty sick in a place like that.

How tall are the trees?

Nearly forgot that it's cherry season here! Normally we have a great blueberry season, but not this year (nor last, either). The strawberries have been great, though.

Time/distance make it impossible to celebrate Fathers Day, but I am celebrating once again being a 'homebody' (meaning having private quarters), after two months of camping out in temp quarters under very undesirable conditions. Still under the weather with my flu'; green oolong in my cup, later than intended due to my move-in today.

Off to the store for provisions.

Road show, with tea (never without) Unfortunately my destination was work, where I slaved trough a 10-hour-shift on my first fathers day :(

I had tea though!
I have this little plastic Gerber baby food container that I cleaned out really well, even bleached, and it's perfect for bringing tea with me wherever I go. Nerdy, yes, but it does the job :) And I've used it so long it smells like tea now.
