I was holding too many things at a time.
Teapot + Cup + Puerh + Electronic Weigh => Open Door => Teapot fell. The rest still in my hand
And yeah Chip, I would rather let it hit me than on the floor...

I know, I know it is not the same but it hurts anyway.
A big mad dog in my studio vs. strong affection to his next door girl friend
Actually they are miso bowls - "potential" tea cups just changed to dust (nothing to shoot)
Lucky me (and a dog too) some remained in a hot kiln.
edit: ... could be miso bowls ...(of course)

Oh ouch! I'm sorry.
Do you ever have a feeling that you are going to break a piece of tea ware? I sure do. I have this wonderful Kyusu from Artistic Nippon, and for some reason I just have this feeling I'm going to break it. I've never had this feeling before and it is creepy.

Re: Teaware Loss (Viewer discretion is advised)
SO a while back I posted pics of a yuzamashi that I busted. Well, I had it repaired. It was not done by a professional, but by a hobbyist. Doesn't use the traditional lacquer technique, but a synthetic -- which I believe is cashew based. Only took a month curing time as opposed to 3. Went with white gold as opposed to yellow. Will it last forever, probably not. Does the repair look pristine, no. Do I care, not really. The price was right...Am I glad I had the experience going thru this process, yes.
BTW, this was facilitated by Takeyoshi KOJIMA of tokoname.or.jp. He was extremely helpful in this whole process. I doubt he made any money on this transaction -- pretty sure it was just good old fashioned customer service. I would definitely purchase directly from him again because of his dedication to customers.

That's wonderful! What a great way to bring a friend back to life. I have a teapot lid in Japan right now being repaired, but it's the 3 month version. I am so excited. I've had the teapot for over 25 years and the lid was broken a year ago and I still used the pot, but it made my heart ache every time.

See, that's totally the right reason to have it done in the traditional method...IPT wrote:That's wonderful! What a great way to bring a friend back to life.
