If I choose to initiate the next box pass, as in part two of this one, it will be after this one ends.
Soapy, I'm also open to ideas. And if I choose to not initiate the next, I'll gladly pass the torch (and teas) to someone else.
Slow going....but going :)
Okay, due to interruptions for such nonsense as doctors visits and drugs that keep knocking me unconscious, it has been slow going through the box. But, I promise, I will not sit on it forever!
I won't make it to the capitol for a pic, but my sister-in-law is coming tomorrow to help me do some pictures and sorting and maybe take the box somewhere fun and local
I have tried the Paris (yummy - and keeping what little there is, sorry for the next folks, there really wasn't much left). I have tried the Czar Nick II which is DIVINE and I am keeping some of that (there is enough for a few more cups I think). Tomorrow morning is going to be Russian Caravan, LT
Tomorrow I hope to sort out some greens, oolongs and puerhs to bag and keep for later and then start figuring out what I am going to put in. *wipes sweat from brow*
I did want to note that I am adding something I homeblended. As some of you know I have been going to a teahouse near here where there is a lady who has been teaching me the art of gongfu (helping me perfect what TheBoys(tm) started teaching me- yes, Sal, I will count you as one of the Boys!) She also has told me a bit about the Chinese/Taiwanese tradition of blending teas to aide in health and mood.
Today was a hard day for me because the docs were honest in saying that getting regulated is going to be a long uphill battle at this point and I needed to resign from a job that I love and postpone my schoolwork. So, I got home and looked at my teas and wished I had Riva (the lady) there to make me something to get my mind and body back into a calm state.
I went with my gut and mixed an organic jasmine green from Central Market with rooibos vanilla and some lavender buds. It smells divine and tastes great and really helped me!! So, I made up a little tin of it.
I have called it Neidan. This is a taoist term which means to use 'internal alchemy' to balance your three treasures (qi, jing and shen). And since this tea contains 'three treasures' and it helped me regain my emotional and energy balance I felt that it was a good name. It is in a specially marked Adagio sample tin (with a sticker over the Adagio logo and a new blue label). I hope others like it!
If you do, maybe I can make more and sell it
Hahaha - I can make tea and retire!
Cheers all!

The sister-in-law plan in my last post did not work out since that day one of my nephews decided to get sick.
However - I have been steadily going through the box and am happy to say that it is now quite a bit different from when I received it! I have taken out and tried a plethora of teas and in turn have added 16 new teas! The puerh box is now smaller since I took some out and decided to conserve space.
Just as a note (so Forkyfork doesn't feel jilted): there is one empty tea canister in the box. It held wild cherry rooibos which my husband tried, using up the last of it. But, I had no need of the canister so left it in in case someone DID need it for something.
I am heading out tomorrow to go to the capitol. I have opted instead of putting the teas on the state seal in the main rotunda to put them on the reverse seal in the smaller rotunda (since there are the 6 flags, the lone star, the Alamo and other Texas-y goodness there). Then I will very hopefully have the box off to its next destination by midweek!
This has been such a fun experience I am both saddened that my part in the adventure is about to be over, but equally excited about the continuing adventures that the box (and its players) will have!!

oh....
And since Auggy was sweet enough to include one of my Signature Blends (Wedding Cake), I used my stash to top off the tin (I am not counting that as one of the 16 teas). I also topped off the Valentines.
And, as a side note, I very much think that Eastree should do another run of the pass box! Many seem ready to jump in on the next round and it really has been quite a fun experience and I think we should share the fun with others!

Here are the pics of the passbox teas in Texas
We went to the Capitol this morning and had my ex-coworkers lend a hand with unloading the tea and taking these fabulous pictures!! I'm the one in the pink skirt
The other two are my husband and son....my husband is the taller of the two
Passbox images from Austin, Texas
I will get the box off by mid-week....look out Forkyfork, here it comes!!

I am glad you guys really liked the pics! They were very fun to make
As I noted to one of my ex-bosses (who is off-camera), taking pictures of tea on the Reverse Seal is NOT the wierdest thing that has ever happened in that building.
The Texas Capitol seems to attract oddities of all sorts (which is one reason I love it so much).
I might also add that the Alamo seems to have faired better having been surrounded by 9 pounds of tea than it did when surrounded by Santa Anna and the 4000 soldiers in his Mexican Army!

Well, I can post some pics of the box itself before it left TX. But, perhaps you could describe the boxforkyfork wrote:Hey, just got the box today. Things have been very busy and I haven't even had time to open it yet, but I will very soon. I was going to take pictures, but Aphroditea's pictures were way cooler than mine

Hope you enjoy the tea and the experience!! Keep us up to date!
