Airmail from Japan is pretty fast, you just can't track it. Tea from Japan usually takes less than a week to reach me via airmail and a few days less via EMS.

Ito En has 2 available now, both $40 for 3oz (yum- they didn't have a chiran kago shinch last year, this should be a winner):
2009 Chiran Yutaka Midori Shincha
This YUTAKA MIDORI varietal is grown in the CHIRAN region of Kagoshima Prefecture. The warmer climate of the southern most island lends a more flavorful and vegetal quality to the teas grown here. This CHIRAN YUTAKA MIDORI SHINCHA is no exception, with an intoxicating aroma and vibrant green color, that only hints at the wonderful flavor that awaits you.
2009 Tanogashima Shincha
Tanegashma Shincha comes from a small island off the coast of Kyushu. This Shincha is noted for its deeper flavor and rich palate, ending in a clean finish. With a complexity that is both unusual and delightful in a Shincha, Tangegashima is one that we hope you will enjoy this spring season.

I am about to try a top secret and brand new shincha YM sent to me by a vendor for an opinion. It is supposed to be gang busters. The vendor is possibly going to replace their incredibly popular current offering with this new oneif and only if it is indeed better than the original.
I can say no more ... my life may already be forfeit, back to the TeaCave.

Foreign intrigue at its best, I say ...

No to the Sae Midori, that has already been added to the O-Cha line up.
