I always pass by the store when I'm there (I think I go to Japantown once a week) but i get anxiety because its such a small store! I'll definitely check it out next time i'm there though!guitar9876 wrote:I also bought a teapot from that shop in Japantown. Works great, I love it. You should check out White Crane Tea Co. which is also in Japantown. The guy who runs it is really knowledgeable. Their tea is good, just really expensive.

The guy who runs it, David, is awesome. He is a certified tea master and I have a friend who got tea ceremony lessons from him. Wish I could afford his tea and I also wish I could go down to Japantown every week! Just went down to the cherry blossom festival which was really fun. Sooo much good food!
Note: some of the images are blurry...this is my first attempt.
Here is one of my pieces...it has a variety of colors in it without a consistent patterns or markings.

Here is a piece that a good friend of mine made for me...
I don't know if you can see the indentation in the side, she made it that way for a pinch type grip.

And here is the best teapot in the world. It adds a distinct flavour to all teas enhancing their natural one. One taste and you would all agree that it is the best!

Hagi Yaki Chawan show & tell
Hi all,
I hope this works, as I have not linked up pictures on this before, but here is one of my favourite Hagiyaki chawans that I have collected over the years. It by an artist named Kaneta Sanzaemon VII (who is the 7th generation of the Kaneta family) and the chawan has a Mei (title) attached to the work called "Nao Shin" or "correct mind". It is about 40 years old, and I just love it! It has a very wabi-sabi feel to it.
Mod edit: I reformatted this for you. Please hit the quote or edit icon in order to see the proper format for future posts.
Love the Hagi, thanks for sharing.
