Thanks for the advise. I don't shoot with a polarizing filter. I generally shoot my images at f22 min. with tungsten lighting. I will give your advise a try.
Thanks again for the heads up,
Michael

I would gel the lights and camera lens. Takes away about 2 stops of exposure. Plenty of how to's on the web. Easy and efficient.
polarizing lights is serious stuff .
great idea. sometimes u get caught up using 1 light . hehe
for me i use 1 and reflectors. but i will scrape up my handy , dandy polarizer filter.
cool ! thanks for the tip !
tead, where do you recommend a good place to stay in BKK ?

My new matcha bowls arrived today!!!!
I got a pair with opposite glazes...the potter calls it reversible; the color on the inside of one is on the outside of the other and vice versa. She calls the colors purple and cola. I requested these; she had not previously made anything that she labeled a matcha bowl before.
The inspiration for these came from Victoria's picture of matcha in a purple chawan.
They are awesome.
Here is the inside of the one that is purple on the outside...the unusual glaze pattern seems to be a kiln suprise...I love it!

Here is the outside of the same one:

Matcha being readied in the one that is purple on the inside (sorry for the glare):

Ahhhhh...

Peace,
Dreamer

new favorite
new chawan i fired in soda before i left in late march 2009

interesting mikomi (floor of chawan). like a starry night or the 'milky way'. yuteki tenmoku is actually fired with oxidation all they up to around 2300 degrees fahrenheit, then reduction as the bubbles of iron oxide are bubbling at the surface, reduction or the absence of oxygen/carbon monoxide causes the metals to flash on the surface of the glaze. wild. difficult. i've been firing this same glaze for about 9 years, finally some direction. to where, i don't know. learning.
been enjoying tea from this chawan for about 3 days now.
koudai is really thick and meaty. a lot of spirit.

With The Elixir:

Yummm.

OMG, that was good!
It's been a week and a half since I have partaken of the Great Elixir.
(Sigh of relief)

Hi Victoria,
Great! Can't wait to here.
I finished my Waku this morning, and
I only have the kiri no mori now, and I'm not too excited about it.
Look forward to hearing about new matcha!
Thanks for your kind comments.
Best and Cheers!
(I did some editing above again - I have a hard time with proofing in this little post window).
