Bai Hao from our host ... first impression ... pretty good even though I am not a big Bai Hao fan ... this was quite pleasing.
... more to come.

Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
Hmmmm...
I may have to give the Adagio one a try.. I love Bai Hao!
On a related note I have been forced to ration what I have left of my Rishi Bai Hao Hsinchu because it's sold out. ***sigh*** I'm really gonna miss that one when it's gone.

The Hsinchu opened my eyes again to Bai Hao last year, included it in an OTTIDresden wrote:Hmmmm...

Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
Today was a really good day. I turned 21 a couple days ago, so last night I went out to a nice Italian restaurant with my parents and my best friends. I ended up drinking a lot of really nice wine because the sommelier gave us four different wines, two whites and two reds, followed by a dessert liqueur, plus I drank most of the DD's alcohol. I may have been slightly drunk by the time I made it home...
When I woke up this morning, it was snowing heavily; eventually a foot of snow fell, adding to the blanket of snow from earlier in the week. I went to the local Chinese teashop and picked up some Bai Hao, among other things. Even though I had never purchased a Taiwanese oolong before, this tasted really familiar. After several cups, I realized that I was given a cup of Bai Hao when I visited the same tea shop a year or two ago.
I really enjoyed this tea. The dry leaves looked like a mix of more and less roasted, and the tea tasted like it too. The liquor was roasty up front, with floral and honeyed notes peaking later. I sipped until the leaves gave up while listening to one of my favorite albums, Andrew Bird's Weather Systems.
Now to do homework. At least my day started out well

It must have been the super close macro with flash.Herb_Master wrote:Keep the pictures comingBioHorn wrote:

Here it is with "natural" lighting. Cleveland gets pretty dark this time of year!
But now that you mention it might be interesting to see what flash photography reveals! I have noticed pu-erh drinking can be very different experience depending on the lighting. Classic older pu-erh have this rainbow/varnish color that is accentuated by daylight.

I guess you would probably see the same colors if you used a flashlight to back-light the teacup.... Kind of like checking an egg for an embryo.

The daylight pic shows an altogether different view, and looks as though you may even have had a few tea pearls before they vanished.
