Dresden,
Thank you.
Great idea. I will try that! Those small porcelain cups should be perfect.

I've recently tried a couple of Japanese oolongs from Yuuki-cha, part of a tasting from another forum, and they were delicious. As I am quite overstocked with oolongs at present, I haven't ordered any more of these yet, but with my next order from Yuuki-cha, I'll be getting some. And I'll keep my eye open for others.

Right now I'm drinking a very light, unroasted Dong Ding from Norbu.

I've also been drinking the Yuuki-Cha Miyazaki oolong that was gifted to me by them. At first, I was a bit perplexed by it, as it did not look like any oolong I've ever seen. But, with a bit of experimentation, it's a nice change from what I know and another choice from the Japanese.

One of DHP genes, Qi Dan..weak and mellow aroma to that of Bei Dou, another DHP family, yet its aroma on the cup never fades out!

Bai Hao ... Adagio. This could easily be an easy brewin' comfort tea. I doubt if Bai Hao will ever make it onto my fave list, just not my preferred style, but I am enjoying a return to Bai Hao.

So where in Japan are you located and do you work with SUNTRY?

I prefer Teao™ to TeaDrunk, more specific. How I classify those pejorative tea overindulgences....

oolong = wine = wino = teao
puer = scotch = three sheets to the wind = boozer = puzer
green = crack = crackhead = greenhead ( alternatively lawnhead )
black = beer = drunk = brunk
white = water = healthy but borning

Currently this teao (and several co-workers) are enjoying some Hwang Cha from Hankook. While it is not quite traditional oolong, it is mellowly oxidized to an oolong-ish deliciousness.

See? Told you I was a brunk teao......

How is Japanese oolong tea? What does it taste like?

I've tried samples of all of Norbu's 2011 Wu Yi teas and they are ~excellent~, particularly the Qi Lan.

The Yuuki-cha oolong I tasted (Organic Miyazaki Oolong Tea Kuchinashi) was delicate and floral and vegetal, reminding me a lot of An Ji Bai Cha, with just enough evidence of oxidation in the warm caramel notes to confirm that it was not simply a green tea pretending to be oolong.

It's an oolong to please a lover of sencha.
