Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Looks Great Ian! I've gone and drooled over Zencha's latest selection a few times so far. Still have surprisingly been able to hold off.

Beauties everyone!
Shame to bury Ian's at the bottom of the last page ... so I drug them over to the new page.
I have "invested" a little in this glaze too. Photos to come.

Those are very beautiful, and I've been watching them. I didn't bid though, so it's not my fault!

A flurry of bids sometimes leads to a lot more similar items showing up....here's hoping....
Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
I got an email a few weeks back from the Zencha website announcing some of Noutomi Susumu's new work. I bought one piece, which I didn't realize was large enough to use as a cereal bowl.
Once I got it (I still like it even though it's huge), I ordered a smaller one, which hasn't arrived yet. It all works out in the end, though, because I now have several tea-ware items from him of varying sizes that all match! I'm glad I went back to look because they sold out fast.
If you go to their site and sign up for their newsletter, you will be notified of new tea-ware before it's available to everyone else.
**I'm definitely one of the people who voted you can never have enough hagi at the beginning of this thread**

I love the rugged look, and the way he does his glazes. I have a similar style piece from him, and it's been my favorite for quite some time now. very beautiful piece you have!blairswhitaker wrote:New Hagiyaki by Mukuhara Kashun, named Tsuchi-no-hana or flower of the earth. This rugged earthy style is very much to my liking great feel in the hand. It has been tough trying to get this piece captured in photo it has a lot going on and the glaze has a lot of subtly.

It is weird how teaware styles seem to go in and out of vogue. For the longest time this was one of the most active threads on teachat, second really to the general teaware show off thread. Now it has been over 5 months since the last post
I should hopefully have something very special to share soon.

Ecclectic pair (this post and next post) of Kashun Guinomi, tebineri, revisited after much use. Slower aging than mosr Kashun I see posted on TeaChat, but these have only ever had a diet of Sencha!

Great little cups Chip! I've been looking at Kashun pieces wanting another one, but the ones he has that jump out at me often are gone before I can jump on them.

Thanks. They have been in service for a few years.
It is hard to predict how long his guinomi-s will remain available on Artistic Nippon. Sometimes a really nice one will be there for weeks or months even. Then sometimes they are swooped on right away. With these unique tebs, it is best to act fast ... but not faster than yours truly, please.
