I love the fact that the repair isn't hidden or camouflaged, but actually emboldened. It doesn't make excuses for a repair.

This one belongs under "show off your teaware". It's that beautiful.

You're right, it should be. Although, it was a nice change in this thread from all the damage and heartache.

Wow, and a certificate of repair and everything. That's pretty neat.

Out of curiosity, would it be okay for people w/ cashew allergies to consume water that's cooled in it...??

Agreed. And a gorgeous repair, too. Doesn't really look out of place, it makes it look more unique and cared-for. Glad you're happy with the repair!

What a horrible way to start the morning! At least the tea was good, I hope?

*CRY* R.I.P. Ru Kiln Meisong cup from Dragon Tea House. We had a really nice week together. Your crackles were getting so nicely darkened with shou puerh and yunnan black tea. I dropped it just this morning. All I did was take it down from a shelf above my desk, and it plummeted to its doom onto the desk. I think I messed up in the middle with some bad hand-eye coordination (or lack of, really). I stood there for a second. The first words out of my mouth, "Doh! I wish I could go back to 5 seconds before!" So stupid! Now my cheap desk is also nicked in places by the broken pieces. SO NOT having a great start to my Friday.

Tadpole sad! Oh well, I have the other twin, and just placed another order for another pair. So much for sticking to budget this month. That's how it is! Tea before movies, eating out, and other toys.

The still alive cup on the right contains some gao shan cha. Fu Shou Shan. At least this is a happy thing.

I My husband was holding a double-walled glass pilsner cup in his hand. Just holding it, and it shattered. He didn't even hit it on anything. I'm too scared to use them now.

Do you remember the poster in Feedback I think who made claims about exploding borosilicate glass? Nobody believed her as I recall.

About that time, I had received a cup and saucer set from Adagio as a gift. Unfortunately it was not my size nor style and it sat unused in its box for 1-2 years.

I decided to use the saucer on a teaware display shelf. As I carried it over to the shelf (nothing on it), it literally exploded into what seemed to be a bajillion tiny pieces. Whoa. Heh. I just stood there in disbelief and remembered the poster ... and how nobody believed her.

BUT, it was highly heat resistant!!!!

According to Adagio, they had long tracked down the problem and corrected it.
