I thought there was something a bit different to your approach when inquiring about the kohiki chawan.... referring to it as "my precious" and "we wants it for ourselves".

That would seem to be the logic, but, in a conversation with him, he told me he uses Bizen and Shiga clays, sometimes mixed together. It also looks like he does use Shino but his style and coloration really change the look.
