I think that their new designs and ideas might have put off the traditionalists here. I'll do some more research to see if I can't find out what happened to them.
Thank-you, IPT. Wow, you are located where my son applied to one of the universities for fall. He's in love with that area of China.
Thanks for checking into this for me!

I thought maybe it was YSLLC. I'm thinking of ordering a pot from him, it's slightly larger than I would like, but I just love it so much! Ha!rjiwrth wrote:
Thanks, Geekgirl. Got it from Yunnan Sourcing along with the two others and a very wonderful gawain. I was pleased with the speed of delivery this time. Very awsome. I'll share some pics of the others that aren't so sterile. BTW, you have some amazing pet photos...all are wonderful but you catch the spirit of the animal in your pictures. Lovely.
And thanks! It's easy to get personality pics when they have so much personality, the little devils!
Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
I have bought a small (what I hope) Yixing tea pot. Maybe someone can tell me if it is a Yixing and what the chinese (?) signs mean.

Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
I am thinking of using this as an additional Wuyi Yancha pot as that is what I tend to drink the most of. But I will have to put it through a few tests to figure it out.
*Edit* It is advertised as 140 ml I still need to measure it myself, and it is from Chinese Cha Dao (formerly Kung Fu Tea Arts).

AdamMY,
What's the size? (It's always so hard to tell in photos.)
Where is it from?

Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
Another $20 Chinatown find for me.

Sorry if the chop is upside down...

Clay: Zini. Med Fired.
Size: 90ml
Age/Year: Modern- late 2000's.
Walls: Med-Thick
Pour: +/- 6 sec. Multiple hole. No drips. Excellent lid fit. Powerful stream.
Source: Chinatown shop, NYC
Tea Pairing: Cooked Puerh
Info: I had seen this pot in the shop for a while, and had always been drawn to it. In a frenzy of NPF (new pot fever), I finally decided to test the pour (perfect) and shell out the small entrance fee. At first, the pot smelled like clay when hot water was put in, but a few hour + boils with spend leaves, and a little use seems to have fixed that. Since the pot is lower fired purple clay, it rounds the mouth feel of shu puerh in a nice way, and hides some of the bitter/musty flaws. In return I have to give up a small amount of sweetness from the tea, but I'm hoping with more use that will improve. The pot is earning a nice patina very quickly as well. Now all I have to do is have a showdown between my two shu pots and see who comes out the winner.

Wow tingjunkie what a little beauty! It looks very cool with the flater bottom/hidden feet and so unique. Definitely worth the $20.

Thanks Brad. This pot always makes me think of a 1950's UFO. Now if I can only get a hold of some 1950's shu I'll be in business!brad4419 wrote:Wow tingjunkie what a little beauty! It looks very cool with the flater bottom/hidden feet and so unique. Definitely worth the $20.

Cooked puerh was first produced on a commercial scale in the government factories of the 1970s.tingjunkie wrote:Thanks Brad. This pot always makes me think of a 1950's UFO. ...But I'm still kind of fond of the pot, having spent an hour brushing tea onto it.
