DHP is not a shape for teas. It is a varietal of tea plant.
It is also a famous Zhuni clay from the Qing dynasty famous for it's deep red colour. I am not sure how the modern clay compares, but I myself also have a small xishi pot also supposedly made from DHP clay which I bought in Yixing after admiring the colour of Oni's pot.

As you can see on the certificate`s picture, the teapot came in virgin, it has not seen water, it was lighter in color with less or no shine, after seasoning and using it for 6 month it got this deep red color and shine, I usually pour the wash over it, and dry it after each use, as I read and observed Zhu Ni is not very absorbant, it has no smell, somewhat similar to porcelain only with better heat retention, so I think I will use it for all kinds of light oolong, I need a separate teapot for Wu Yi oolong (Dragon teahouse`s 30 years aged mud flat teapot).

Any zhuni teapot is going to change the taste of tea and is especially good for oolongs, IMO. Shape of pot is usually flatter/squatter for Wuyi because of longer leaves. Green oolongs don't need this shape. I also think Wuyi requires hotter water and more heat retention than green oolongs and a thicker walled pot is often best, I've found.
OTOH, I know some folks who think purple pots are good for Wuyi as they tend to smooth out the flavor, mellowing the roasted flavor that Wuyi tends to have.
Have you compared your banko pot with this one in brewing wuyi? It's an interesting contrast.

Well since my Hagi seems to like hanging out in San Francisco (3 days now), which I can't really blame it, I'd love a little time there myself, I thought I might post some of my other lovely new tea bowls. This one From Ericka O'Rourke of
Elm Studios on Etsy. I'm doing my best to get her to the Artisan Forum.

Hi Oni, Congrats on getting your new teapot. It looks really good and I like the shape very much. Good taste in teapots you have!
Enjoy your tea brewing and keep us updated of the seasoning.
Cheers

Lovely shot - and congratulations on your first tea bowl!
I think there's nothing that sets off the intense green of the matcha as beautifully as a deep black chawan

No, she split the set for me. I just got the one bowl. It is larger than I expected, very, very nice! The green glass is so vivid. And the glaze is just amazing, looking similar even to the Hagi cucumber glaze in places.
I see the one you wanted is still there and there is a nice yunomi too, I think you should go for it!!! I really wish now that I bought the set.

Very sweet set Geeber!!!
Congrats!

I have an Ericka O'Rourke piece coming my way.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
