Today's teas..both from Norbu:

Charcoal Roasted Lao Con Shan Cha 2011 Spring Wild Tea Tawain:
Incredible..you can taste the charcoal roast notes but not in an ashy obtrusive way. Barley notes with a hint of dried plum or something..

Shui Xian 2011 Spring: A real power house....unsweetened Dutch coco, dried raisins, and coco bean/wood flavors..yeah I didn't believe coco notes were possible in tea but they are. Really unique flavor profile..like the sort that you could pick out easily in a blind cupping..

I'm drinking an organic Tie Guan Yin (Iron Goddess) from TeaVivre (produced 6/15/11 out of Zhangshou, Fujian, China. It has incredible floral notes that are very distinct and strong, I'd almost think it was a 'flavored' tea.
Not a big fan of flavored teas, but this although strong is not overpowering and the leaves unfurl into long and fluttering green pennants, which was unexpected from such a small package.
I'm a newbie to the Oolongs, but am very glad I took a chance with this beauty.

Second infusion of The Mandarin's Tea Room '11 high fired old bush SX.
11g in 100ml gaiwan. A very expensive gongfu session. I wanted to sample this tea uninfluenced by clay and this is my only gaiwan.
...worth it.

For the first time I am trying organic Wuyi Rock Oolong and I really love the subtle notes of this tea. Very smooth texture, a pleasant taste I will associate with an early morning fresh air somewhere in the country where you can still feel a very pleasant shade of smoke in the background while you are walking through an orchard and the very gentle fruity notes are complemented by the wild flowers and smell of the wet bark of the trees after the dew.
The second brew is more like a gentle roasted hazelnuts and fruits...
Very nice tea and great experience. I am looking forward to try more oolong varieties.

Drinking an unknown ginseng oolong. I'm to the point in the multiple infusions that most of the ginseng flavor has passed on and it's slightly nutty and a nice roasted flavor!
