Da Yu Ling from this Dutch online store.
I love it so much...it's vegetable-y, citrusy, flowery, honey-y, everything-y.

Re: Official what Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
I drank the Mi Hua with Hojo 16 months ago and really enjoyed it.David R. wrote:Third day with Hojo's highest quality dan cong : Mi Hua Xiang 2011. Exquisite. I was teadrunk from the first cup... A tea that I will remember for a very long time.
I bought a tin - preumably 2010 - and have still not opened it.
Why do I buy so many teas?

I see Hojo puts best before dates on the bottom of the tin

Mine says Feb 2016

If this warm weather continues, I need to break out a few Dan congs. I always reach for Yan Cha when it is cold and wet and windy and miserable.
This unexpected fine weather is just the excuse to reach for a wealth of goodies from Tea Habitat and Hojo that have been getting neglected.

It's good to see you back here Herb. I also tasted the 2010 version of the Mi Hua Xiang. I actually preferred the 2011 version but there is a big chance that I am now more comfortable with my brewing parameters than I was last year. Previously, I only had roasted and fairly oxidised dan cong. This Mi Hua Xiang, as the whole 2011 selection from Hojo, is not roasted and barely oxidised, and it took me some time to adjust my parameters.
I've spent yesterday afternoon with another treat : Master Lin's Zhi Lan Xiang from Postcards. Same style of dan cong, on the fresh side, also a gold medal winner if that means anything.
Now Akira told me that because of heavy rain, the 2012 crop in Guangdong may be disappointing compared to last year's. Maybe a good opportunity to drink all this stock of yours

Hmm....now drinking some Ali Shan oolong from Norbu, rich and sweet and lightly floral. Very nice.

finishing my Shan Lin Shi spring 2010 from teamaster.
English is not my native language so I cant fully describe this tea but in few words I would say : Grilled pineapple juice with a hint of muguet, "un p'tit delice"
Cheers

2010 Milan Dancong from Jing Tea Shop -
Most of the florals have subsided from this tea. A woodiness has emerged that has improved it for me....though it seems a touch less complex.

Enjoying another lovely session with Norbu's 2011 Xiao Hong Pao, delicious Wuyi yancha, that is exceptionally mild mannered but still quite powerful.

Sunday will mostly be an oolong dedicated day here at the WTE. Mostly Taiwan I think as there are a LOT of specialized vendors of Taiwan. Oolong here.
Today however, had Zealong's entire oolong line. The greenest "Pure" really rocked! Exquisite aroma including steep 6.
But all were pretty amazing!

Red Blossom 1980's Aged Tung Ting. Looking at my teaware I realized its been a long time since I pulled out a few of the TA pieces, so I pulled out my "In Praise of Shadows piece" by Shyrabbit.

Amazing fragrance in the brewed leaves. Low roast, very floral. Quite nice.

spring 2012 Lao Cong Ye Sheng Dancong from Jing Tea Shop.
First time trying this tea. I am a dancong noob. Hard to find that sweet spot between too weak and too bitter. I am getting close.
Third steep and the aroma is still very nice.
