Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
I couldn't help it, I just had to see what direction this "issue" has taken. My reason for editing my original post was because I felt it a little too long winded, thought it much better to keep it simple. Like I said, I certainly understand wanting to buy directly from Petr, I also appreciate the "one on one" interaction. But having said that, what I am doing by "re-selling" Petr's wares is actually a "win-win" for everybody. By shipping in bulk the costs are less. I can then pass that savings on to the buyer. I can also offer insurance for the package. Chech Republic Mail only offers insurance for "Lost" packages, not for damage. At first glance my prices are definately higher than Petr's but if you do the math you will find that it is actually a little less expensive buying from me. The shipping rates from Chech Republic is very, very high. In some cases the shipping would cost more than the pottery. Now "wiping hands of the issue" I,m just trying to help promote and provide Petr's wares to as many people as have an interest. Everybody....enjoy your tea.

Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
Hi Everybody,
Mirka had one more firing with bonsai pots and some big teaboats so few of my small pieces take place between and below those pots. I have tried to take some pictures but my camera was to tired and refuse to work in the middle of my effort. So for now, till the problem with camera will be solved here is cattle-teapot. Teapot from fireproof clay made for my friend for his tea ceremony. These pictures I have taken when I tested it. Although it was not the first one I try it- the clay pot on the fire place, it is kind of risky situation. I do them from special mixture of clays- one part of high alumina local clay and one part of artificial clay for cooking. And it works. Inside it is without glaze (for good interaction between clay and water) and outside I use clay glaze "black Magda"
Already on this pictures you can see that my camera was tired... It is keeps almost two liters but it is better to not fill it full. When water boils it tend to boil over...

So after few days my camera start to work and siting under big, old oak I have also pretty good signal for my mobile internet connection...so I am able to update my "availeble now" picasa album. It is funny-two five hundret meters from our property the signal is much much better then down in the vilige. But it is nice view up here- sunset behinde the forest, small lakes around, birds singging...

Sometimes you just "know." I think Petr made that teapot for me.

Re: Petr Novák - Pots under influence of tea
I'm contacting a hit-man now to set up a contract against you both. I love that pot.

Petr, you rock!
TBH, this pot did not fully hit me at first, then 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc viewing confirmed I really liked it ... way too late I am certain!

Petr's work has a subtle, elegant, sensual feel to them that can only be really appreciated by using them. His shapes, glazes, and, porcelain clay body combine to make the tea experience that much more enjoyable. I am a big fan and user of his gear. Plus, he's a very nice guy.

Thank you all for your reactions. If you have any questions (about techniques, clays. glazes or anything) feel free to ask.
Thank you Tead Off for your compliments. Now I have to ask Mirka to take me back to reality (my ego is flaying up in the air -if it makes sence in English
Anyway It is nice to hear from you again. Enjoy your time.
