Thanks for your support and the plug for my new project. I encourage others to have a look and give me suggestions both for other potters to add to the mix and how to make it a better service.Chip wrote:Awesome new pieces! Enjoy!

Re: NEWEST CHAPTER! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XVI
Not a new piece of teaware, but a new realization....I was enjoying some puerh this afternoon, but had brewed it in a larger volume than I normally do, and my favorite little yunomi was holding the heat, taking a long time to let it cool off enough to drink. I was thinking longingly of my wonderful "tempest" cups

whose shallow shape helps to dissipate the heat quickly, and then realized that 'big brother' (in the background above) has almost the same shape, just taller walls, and would be great for cooling and drinking this hotter tea quickly. And while big brother is at home, cousin big blue

is here at the office, and so happy to oblige. This is an especially nice realization because I'd been feeling guilty about keeping this one without using it as often as it deserves.

What a collection.
How many shelves like this do you have in cave?

Wow! Beautiful.JeiKun4114 wrote:My new 140ml Hokujo cup and saucer :D
This would go perfectly with my Hokujo shiboridashi which fits the size and also features the white line. I have not found a cup of this particular style of his yet. Tea ware envy!!! :)
I don't have a great photo of the shiboridashi but it can be seen here:

Hokujo's work is great. It is a real step up from lower priced Tokoname. He is a true master of his craft.
Once again I have to compliment you on your excellent taste in tea ware! I don't think there's one thing you've shared that I did not like a lot!

People with a weakness for little tiny things should skip this post. Close this window. Close your eyes.
My newest teapot arrived today--miniscule hardly begins to describe it:

it's on the lower left. The vast great pot in the upper right holds 60 mL comfortably and 70+ mL if filled to the brim. And here with a ruler for scale....nose to tail, or spout tip to handle, the largest dimension is just 2 inches.

I am most hopelessly entranced by its tiny perfection.

This baby just came in today... It's the left one from http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/h ... ohagi.html
It's been in my possession for less than an hour and I already love it sooo much

Ha! That's pretty funny... I had seen those on Yahoo Japan auctions, too, and I really debated bidding on one while I was ordering other stuff. Ended up not, but I was pretty surprised when they showed up on AN... good to know why! Small world...iannon wrote:NICE!
