Yes, those two initiated my quest on AN. As it turns out, those two were purchased from a third party, not Gisui. I believe they are from the 1980" if I remember correctly.
All the Gisui in this SO were purchased directly from Gisui a few weeks ago. I think Toru asked him at the right point in time as he had these for a couple years.
Not a huge deal ... but I feel better about it this way. Seemed like it was meant to be!
EDIT: seems the ones currently on AN may have been around on the aftermarket, maybe. No wood boxes. Just a hunch.

The pink one is nice, but the sutra engraving ... whew, they must do it with the tip of a needle.

Yep, I showed a few of these to my gf and she wasn't at all impressed by any of the "dirty" ones although she was much less tactful than "interesting".

Seems like an excuse to try for two--one of the more 'polished' pots, and one of the 'dirty' beauties.
