Great video, augie! Can't wait for the box.
Can you ship your video crew along? There is a great potential of slapstick comedy here when I will brew puerh!

Hi all,
I've received Sebastian's (Fatman2's) tea that he wishes to add to the box pass. (And I must say that it is quite nice!!) It is a sizable chunk (~50g?) off a 2003 Dehong brick.
What would be the best way to send it around? Just make an interception and send it now to whomever's next? Or wait until it comes back around to me and add it in for the victory lap?
Any advice or ideas or opinions are sought.
Thanks.

dave

Here is the short, sloppy video Emmer helped me make over the weekene. Yes, I make pu totally wrong, so please watch while seated and avert your eyes if you become sick or nauseated.
The box definately needs another go-around. I have been on the list for the Oolong Pass box since June and haven't seen it yet. . .
Cool video. I hope to be able to participate in a box pass at some point.

I say send it straight to Russian Soul and keep it in circulation. I have kind of forgotten which tea it is and why he was adding it to the box, by the way. I seem vaguely to remember that there was something special about it.
Additionally, you mentioned earlier about sending some stuff from the box to Seb and weather that would violate any rules. I vote that there is no violation and in fact that is a wonderful way to spread the love.
BTW, love your term, "
victory lap." It makes me chuckle every time I read it.

Hi, the tea was to give everyone who may be wondering what YSLLC's 08 dehong might turn into. The 03 Dehong is an estimated age. It is definitely older than the earlier 05 batch that YSLLC was selling.
Btw, thanks for the thought of sending me tea from the box. I have contributed to it just for the fun without any expectation of anything in return. Sharing tea to fellow tea friends is part of the enjoyment. I have lots of tea to try already. So please do not send me any. hehe.

If this is what you decide to do - great! I will add this special tea to the Box once they converge here in Chicago.
In fact, I can never say NO if someone wants to send me tea

. Let me know if you need my address

I actually have not yet. . . . However I did try the wonderful sample of the '05 7542 last night. Lasted for 15 infusions before I could not drink anymore. Still very strong however had a great flavor, well blended, good depth of flavor, Medium hui gan. For $35 I think it is a little pricey as a 2008 8582 sells for only $9 and tastes just as good.
Thanks for the sample!

Nifty video!
So... I'm completely clueless about this one -- what was the deal w/ the dried tangerine? Aged puerh in it or something?

They take shu pu and stuff it inside a tangerine to absorb the citrusy flavor into the tea. You brew the tea with some of the peal to get a nice citrus flavored tea. So in a way you can call it flavored tea, but just pu instead.
