That point took place almost 25 years ago... ;)

... with my first Yixing pot i got in Singapore, and soon after with my first Japanese tea sets, trips to China, living in Bangkok, and more Yixing pots, and antique porcelain cups, and then came the internet... and more Japanese pots, and yunomis... :lol:


Here two quick snashots, of my Chinese and my Japanese cabinets (many of the boxes on the Japanese shelve have tea ware inside, keeping it outside would just clutter the shelve...):

Kanzaki-san makes good work. Well respected and recognized in Japan and elsewhere. This is what this kind of work costs. He's not actuall all that expensive as upper end Japanese wares go.

Oh, no question! I hope I didn't come off as complaining! As a musician and artist, I'm totally behind supporting artists and real craftsmen, especially creative ones, whenever possible. I simply meant that it is beautiful work that I personally can't afford. That said, I love the TeaChat forums because I've discovered several artists from whom I have plans to order ceramic work in the near future!
