Spring Alishan from Floating Leaves.
Light, refreshing. A little flowery. A little buttery. Perfect for a hot summer night.

DYL 103K (103km from DYL section of cross island highway, +/- 2660m elevation). 12g/80ml. Very very slight hint of bitterness, insane umami, aftereffects ---- insane like a top grade gyo but with more of an edge/punch.

A supposedly 30yr old oolong which was stored but not reroasted (think it might be dong ding, not sure). Dry leaves are semi unfurled, the liquor is relatively quite dark red/brown like an aged puerh. Very smooth taste, very soothing and even tastes very faintly suggestive of puerh. O_O

Prelim tasting of Imperial Pearl from MountainTea.com ... a roasted offering from OTTI 15 MountainTea Taiwan Oolong. Really nice offering, very complex.
[look for OTTI 15 under the OTTI forum of TeaChat.http://www.teachat.com/viewforum.php?f=74 This will be posted today, Thursday July 5 at 6 pm Eastern USA time ... it will be posted for previewing around 3 hours earlier]
I usually do a first tasting with a 1:1 ratio, in this case 3 grams in 3 ounces (90 ml) water. Looks like a drop in the bucket.

... but this Taiwan oolong leaps on delivering. I am anxious to try this at a higher ratio.

Also from FLT: Jin Xuan (Spring 2012) first day of drinking this, which has a wonderful finish (leaves a pleasing, soothing taste & feel in my mouth) despite unappealing aroma of the leaves as they sit in my Yixing pot;
love it & am a bit mystified by its effects

Teamasters Gao Shan Luanze Oolong, from Shan Lin Shi. Winter 2011 Harvest.

2011 Zhenyan Bai Ji Guan from Buddha Country Cliff- Five Star Tea.
smooth and gentle with balanced honey and caramel notes... I really like the yellowish colour of brewed leaves of BJG.
I am wainting for colder days to taste the set of eight fresh Dancongs.

MTR 2011 high fire TLH. 6.5 grams in a 65ml yixing pot. A real treat, smooth and delicious, and worth every penny. Tim's flavour and aroma descriptions are spot on. Drinking tea of this quality has really ruined cheaper yancha for me, because it seems incredibly harsh by comparison, especially at this sort of strength.

Didn't return to Taiwanese oolongs for a while. Currently trying various oolongs again. And now on DYL103k, quite impressive tea. 12.5g and about 100-110ml of water, using small kyusu. Can't try high ratio in a gaiwan.
There are only few teas outside of Japanese teas that i like and this one is on top from them. Also new experience on how tea can affect body, sure feel some power hidden in this tea!

Re: Official what Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
The afternoon temperature finally dropped below 90° and I've been able to drink tea w/o sweating and questioning my sanity! I celebrated with an oolong session - reaching into a box of EOT samples and coming up with a packet of 2011 handmade Lao Jun Mei wuyi yancha. This tea tastes excellent brewed in my little Yixing that I had originally intended to devote to Puerh. I suppose that means its time to buy another Yixing pot for the Puerh while I enjoy my wuyi oolong.
