Well, I think it probably could be described as a si ting shaped li xing
Si ting is one particular shape of a wider category of pear-shaped pots (wide bottom, "nipped-waist" neck). Some older Qind dynasty ones bare carved si ting caracters under the handle or on the lid's rim rather than under the pot.

- right 85 ml zini by an apprentice of the same studio...
Both used for pu er.

Tea pairing: Red/black tea
description: I am using this pot for about 2 years and it is seasoned quite well now. At the beginning it steal some of the flavor but now it enhances it nicely. It is important to not use boiling water for the more delicate red teas since the thick walls would "cook" them.

I am not a specialist to tell which clay fits the best for one special kind of tea...I have been using the shui ping for 6 months and the Chen Ju Fang for only 4 months...First I noticed that they both steal a lot of the flavour (as solitude says in the previous post), but now it is less the case.
I use the Chen Ju Fang for very young shengs (0-3 years), which are the pu er I prefer. I use the shui ping also for very young shengs, but also for older ones (5-25 years).
I can hardly find a real difference between those 2 pots...at least for the moment.
They are complementary in shape, colour, texture...
I first feared the zini clay didn't fit young shengs in which I look for strenght, bitterness, astringency, but zhuni clay would be better adapted...But my short experience tells me it is not the fact...
I think the Chen Ju Fang is the best yixing teapot I ever bought (I bought about 20 of them...and sold some of these since...). It is a real pleasure to use...

What teas do you brew in your 2 zini ? Do you have pictures ? Have you seen the last Chen Ju Fang that Nada added ? (Tian Qing Ni clay...) just wonderful !!

I've had the 85 ml shui ping for about a year or so now and originally chose to pair it with very young sheng aged 0-3 years. I've been happy with the pairing and plan to continue as is. The pot seems medium fired to me and has a noticeable effect on the tea.

I've only had the CJF pot for about a month so far, but have chosen to pair it with slightly older sheng aged 4-15 years. I feel this pot is quite different than the shui ping. The clay is less fine and has a beautiful and unique appearance. It also see s slightly lower-fired than the shui ping, and has a much more noticeable effect on the tea (though I've only used it a couple times so far and I expect it to have less effect over time). I feel there are major differences between the two pots.

I'll post some photos soon ... hopefully along with a new acquisition I plan on trying to pair with very old aged sheng

Still need to try the zhu ni with some older sheng, but I don't see why it shouldn't pair well. With my set complete, I don't see myself purchasing any more yixing pots (I know, yeah right ).

Good question on the concentric circles. To be honest I'm not sure, but I'm curious to know others' ideas on the matter.
