Most welcome RS. This is probably the closest one can extrapolate the 08 Dehong bricks after a few years of storage. the 08 bricks are currently being sold by YSLLC

Pomanders, you make them as gifts at Christmastime. My Grandmother used to make them. It's a relaxing, mindless task when it's freezing outside and your house smells fantastic. Used during Victorian times to mask B.O. and ward off evil spirits. Mostly B.O. since bathing was frowned upon. You take an orange and buy a bulk jar of cloves at GFS or Penzey's and plug the sharp end of the clove into the orange. I filled the orange until there was no surface area. If you google "pomander" you will find an endless number of instructions and folklore.heavydoom wrote: what the hell was that round orange thing with the black dots on it?
So, T4T. Let's see some action! Pictures, comments. It's so hard to say goodbye to the box.

I have received the listing now, sorted througn the box and drawn up a list of those I want to try in my tea note journal.
I have only had time so far to try two, two that Salsero included. I was not sure at all what I would think of the tangerine Pu since I am not fond of or interested in flavored teas. But this I liked a lot - tabaco-leathery and smooth. Unexpected. Tried another, a mixed shu/sheng, the 1996 CNNP #7581 Kumming from Jing Tea Shop, and not sure what I think of it, but not taken by it like the tangerine.
I did not get any noticeable tangerine or citrus taste or aroma with the tangerine. Is that what the rest of you found? Or perhaps I did not use enough peel.

I always feel guilty for not enjoying that 1996 tea more myself! It is old, so it affords some insight into how tea ages, but it is not a great old tea.t4texas wrote: the 1996 CNNP #7581 Kumming from Jing Tea Shop, and not sure what I think of it, but not taken by it like the tangerine.... perhaps I did not use enough peel.
I use more peel I guess, since I get a fair reminiscence of citrus, sort of like an old tangerine perfume.

I have taken a little under 200 lbs of Pu out of the box and will add some back in. Among the few, I have a 100 g shu tuo I could add whole so that anyone that wants a little time taking one apart can do so, and so that anyone can take 10 - 15 g and experiment with brewing it two or three ways.
I should be able to ship the box on Monday, so if you will PM me with an address, russiansoul, I'll get it to you.
Thanks everyone for this incredible Pu tasting experience.

I have shipped the pu box tonight, but it will not actually leave this Office depot location until Monday. You can expect it by Thursday, RussianSoul.
Have fun.
And my apologies for the mini tuos. These are not terrible, but they will contrast with everything else. (The sheng minis are better than the shu.)

Thanks for trying that so I did not break the seal in vain! I could taste a faint citrus flavor and scent. However, I was disappointed because all I could taste was peppery flavor. Hardly tea-like at all. Now that you mention it, It may have been tobacco-ish too. I was very surprised.t4texas wrote: I did not get any noticeable tangerine or citrus taste or aroma with the tangerine. Is that what the rest of you found? Or perhaps I did not use enough peel.
Thanks for including that in your contribution, Salsero.
