Received this yesterday, it's crossposted in "teaday," (sorry.) Sadly, the second the hot tea hit the cup, I heard the distinctive *tink*tink* of glaze crackling. Fortunately, there are three cups, and the one that crackled did not actually crack. If I want to use this set, I will have to be VERY careful about prewarming.
The pot holds just a smidge over 16oz.

Etsy's gots finds!Victoria wrote:bi lew chun - nice! I love my raku chawan from Etsy. Congrats!
The inner surface looks a little rough, but I think I can work with the shape.olivierco wrote:It seems quite "whiskable".
Congratulations!
Indeed it is. When I first saw his chawans I actually assumed he was Korean. There is something primordial and Jurassic about many of his pieces, but in his more restrained work he seems to combine Japanese Raku-type coloring with rougher, more naturalistic Korean textures. I like it. I am hoping the bowl has a good weight.Oni wrote:That chawan is the work of Pagace Pagasari, real name Frederic Pagace, he learned the art of raku making in korea, he has truly unique work, I have seen a few of his work at a fellow tea lovers site from hungary.
Will do.Abracadaver! wrote:bi lew chun-- please post what you think once the chawan has arrived. I've been wanting one of those pagasari bowls for ages.

Wow, tea folks...the awesome tea wares that have been posted here in the last few days have been mind-blowing...what a range from from a great 8-piece set, to cups with great history, to new cups soon to have great history, to a purple not-really-a-matcha-bowl bowl (now I MUST have a purple matcha bowl), to the radiant set seen here today!
Thanks so much everyone for sharing!
I feel like coming here and looking and not posting anything is cheating...I will post some when my camera is fixed or replaced.
Thanks,
Dreamer

A box? Is it a himitsu box? An origami box? Or was there something, dare I say, in the box?Chip wrote:WOWZA. Great teawares everyone!!! Some most unusual pieces ... the likes I have never seen before.

MegaHagi!
Yamane Seigan has a new fan. This is not the norm size wize for me, holding a whopping 400ish ml (14ish ounces). But this is one beautiful Hagi, most impressive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
