“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”

nice firing

above ochawan had the wildest chadamari. wild. all green
this ochawan balances well, not 'bonjiri heavy' or butt heavy. foot is actually easy to grasp for 'otemae'. the koudai is the lifeline that the host holds onto as he/she is preparing spontaneous tea for the guests.
i learned after enjoying matcha, a thicker floor (chadamari) is ok. it insulates your hands from getting burned. too thin and hot, hot, hot !
whoa !
one of the wildest in this firing

biidoro shomen is nice too ! wild !

the other was a cool serendipity piece, a 'kutsu gata' with a nice biidoro shomen. amazing. feminine in size, well balanced. i think i'll need to have tea tomorrow in this bowl. i'll make photographs in the morning, i think the neighbors might freak out if the strobes get cranking at 1030pm at night.
aloha !

new nodate chawan
these 'mini chawan' are called '野点 nodate chawan'. for tea outdoors on location.
measuring W 4.00 inches x H 3.00 inches . there is even a tiny chasen specially made for 野点 (nodate).

I've seen this piece before, but I marvel at it every time I see it. Absolutely an amazing result.
Have you ever attended an NCECA conference? They offer great opportunities to meet other clay people. I've meet and conversed with Malcolm on several occasions at these conferences, that helped to make him aware of my work.
Another idea, have you thought of submitting work to the "Strictly Functional Pottery National"?...unfortunately the deadline for submissions has just past (June 10th).
Check out their website at: http://www.strictlyfunctionalpotterynat ... hibit.html
I think your work would do well.
Lots of exhibition curators use this exhibition to find artists for exhibitions.
I hope this helps and that I've answered your question.

Cory,
My deepest bow.
Thanks for the dedication.
As an Architect, I see post firing evidence of asymetrical equilibrium. The tripod shell/wadding required to support the difficult mass of the chawan has resulted in the absolute illustration of balance with the ash flow at dead center.
As a potter...I smile.
BTW, information given freely,
Michael
