My beautiful new piece from Ericka O'Rourke's ElmStudios Etsy store:

In addition to the mark of her potter's stamp shown in the last picture, Ericka also signed my piece on the bottom. It is absolutely stunning... the glasswork in the bottom is dazzling, and the contoured indentations make it a joy to hold and drink from. It's called an Earth and Water yunomi, and that's exacty the story it tells. The exterior glaze is a harmony of browns, blues, and greens, very organic and rich... and the pool of glass at the bottom is a graduated ocean, the center being a vibrant deep blue, then turquoise, and a border of emerald green at the edge... reminds me of the color of the ocean in Jamaica.

It's safe to say I LOVE IT and I'm trying to resist going to her shop and buying a few other things.

Congrats Sarah, that is a stunning piece!
She is fabulous!

I think the "Dark Earth Yunomi" that is currently on her site is the companion piece to mine, and has a dark glass pool in the bottom. If anyone is interested. The glaze is stunning.

I looked at that one... but there was no photo of the inside bottom and no mention of the glass pool in the description. And I *heart* the glass pool stuff! There are 2 other yunomi I am lusting for, though.

think maybe it was too hard to photograph.
But it was mentioned in the original listing.
Intriguing, as I haven't seen brown glass.

never thought i would ever get a zhuni pot but this one attracted me. it makes a lovely chord when hit; very similar to hitting a chord on the glockenspiel.

+1 I have to agree with Chip, really great pieces and your new one too Luthier!

Sarah, that blue is down right awesome makes me want to dive right in and Victoria, just love that green. Trioxin your Parkers are beauties and Seeker, just have to stare at that dragon's eye!

All different shapes and styles portrayed here, such a variety...Wow!
Luthier, your new Zhuni pot is quite inspiring. I like the shape.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their TeaWares and causing me to have a severe case of the 'WareWantsNowSyndrome'! As stated by many before me, TC is NOT a good thing for the Wallet!

I have really been enchanted by the idea of summer bowls. Looking at lots of them and wanting many, I finally took the plunge on this beauty because of its age and pristine condition and that it needed a loving home. There is something really special about holding a summer bowl, you are really almost forced to hold it with two hands thus making it feel very ceremonial and special.

This is a signed Japanese Vintage Chawan - probably 50+ years old. It is just a gorgeous piece, with a light glaze that is opalescent which forms a tiny pool in the center.

Wow!!!
Such beauty and amazement!
I love it.
In the zhuni - oolong? Perhaps Phoenix High Mountain Single Grove Honey Fragrance, or maybe just some really good Anxi Tieguanyin?
I'll have some new photos soon - been on a bit of an acquisition binge myself.
I can hardly wait to share!

Hey Victoria - I've been lusting after a summer chawan, but I'm concerned about whisking and making a mess in such a shallow bowl!
Any tips?
Love to see a video of someone whisking matcha in a summer bowl.
Cheers! :P

I didn't prepare the matcha in the chawan, not sure if that is done or not. I doubt it. I made it in a high sided bowl and poured into the chawan. I have also had oolong in it, it's just a great bowl.

Please do share your new babies!!
