Thank goodness I am not actively buying Yixing too. They are quite beautiful.

That is OK, I am already imbalanced anyway.Tead Off wrote: But, Chip, a little bit of balance can't do any harm.
I have some Yixing from my early days when I started drinking tea in 1999, one day I will approach Yixing again.
Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XI
Ooooo, Hagi #4.
Excellent.
I love the houhin I got so much, I've asked Toru-san
if there is a larger one (something in the 250-300ml range but same
shape).

and then there's always chawan, yunomi...

gorgeous, cory. I take it this is (at least temporarily) one of your keepers? I know I keep saying it, but it's amazing how different celadon can look depending on the clay and application.

Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XI
So here's the debut of my CZ Pot, courtesy of Imen. It just finished the prep cycle and its inaugural infusion of '08 Zhi Lan Xiang, also courtesy of Imen.

It's so smooth that it's going to be hard to notice any patina buildup

Because of the low shrinkage, the lid is a really tight fit, and the reason why CZ pots can keep tea in there fresh for two weeks. Although it doesn't sound like a bell, it has a nice metallic sound better than most of my teapots

I think one of the reasons why CZ pots are good for DC, besides the reasons that Imen lists on her blog, is that it's probably more practical for the wallet. I mean, think about how much a thin-walled Zhuni with a tight fitting lid would cost someone?! This only cost me $39, and the construction is very nice, with very nice pour speed.

Sorry it's wet inside...I just finished my 16th (!!!) steeping of Zhi Lan. You can tell that it's made on a wheel because of the concentric circles. Much more to write about this CZ pot, but I need to compile the data and do comparisons, so it'll be on my blog later....
*shameless plugging*

Great CZ pot Maitre_Tea. I have been reading the accompanying discussions on these and my curiousity is piqued. Zhi Lan Xiang, Dan Cong, right?
Nice to see the twin Houjins again, Olivier. Do you think you will ever use both at the same time?
Interesting and different (laquered wood?) Chataku, Victoria.

Maybe not. One might find a new home in Southern California.Chip wrote: Nice to see the twin Houjins again, Olivier. Do you think you will ever use both at the same time?
