Package arrived! It's really lovely and feels great in the hands! Fantastic piece, thank you again!Chip wrote:TreasureHunt Treasure 2 by Shawn of GreenwoodStudio. A beautiful wood fired shino wan to a lucky TreasureHunter!
Winner TBD and announced later!!!Teacup, wood-fired iron rich stoneware w/ shino and iron brushwork
This one has been glazed with a nice smooth shino glaze that takes on golden hues. It has some very minimal iron brushwork decoration. It measures 3-3.5"w (because of its asymmetry) x 2"t and holds approx. 7 oz at full capacity (to the rim)

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
I'm glad it arrived safely
and sorry to have been so absent, it's been busy and I'm looking forward to slowing down and catching up with my online buddies!Just completed a wood-firing and unloaded the kiln today, lots of goodies. I wanted to show you guys this piece (I appologize for the crappy pictures), I think it might be my favorite from this firing, although I'm still trying to go through all the wares. Lots of cleaning and evaluating to do. I did a good few of these kyusu, this one just happens to be the smallest. It holds 75ml, is a very iron-rich stoneware left unglazed on the interior and has a crawling shino on the exterior, obviously

Well, I have much more to come but I just thought I'd check in, say hello, and give you a little preview. I hope everyone is having a great cuppa

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)

Here's another quick piece, I did a bit of iron underglaze work with this shino on some work, it's kind of subtle and fun. This yuzamashi is a stoneware with much less iron.

No raptors debunix
I kinda forgot about those, perhaps I'll give 'um another go one of these days.
Starting to get to new stuff organized, got the studio cleaned today WOOHOO!
Anyway here's another kyusu and faircup, I'm matching these up as sets when possible. This one is 125 ml. It's the only one I've had a chance to list so far, and it's late so maybe more tomorrow.

Some great new pieces, Shawn. I can't believe I still don't own any of your work yet. Soon I hope.
I love the Hagi-esque spout on the new kyusus. What are the filters like?
EDIT: Never mind, I just saw it's on your Etsy with more detailed pictures.
I also strongly support the saucers and plates movement!

Re: Shawn McGuire (GREENWOODSTUDIO)
I'll PM you here. Sent you messages on Facebook and at your Yahoo, and I assume you didn't get those
All my Etsy messages were getting sent to my spam folder, I think I have that fixed now.

Loving my Cory Lum hand trimming tool BTW, almost all of my new work is now being hand trimmed, it feels much more soulful to me. Here's a kind of wild example
