It's a highly stylized version of the character for longevity. Very common symbol in Chinese decorative arts.

Not exactly teaware, but as they are 11 x 8 cm I will use them as chataku or as tray for my teapots.

Are those small metal trays? Hard to see!
1/2 pattern sarkua and 1/2 bark?
But they are sweet!

I finally found an awesome tea house that is relatively close to home. I picked up a three tiered tea tin for when I travel and a washi box. I just thought that the washi boxes were so pretty. I also picked up some very nice white tea while I was at it.
