Sounds like my boyfriend. Occasionally he'll join me in using one of the small sets - mostly the one I bought him a few years ago as a present - but normally he'll only use those to try what I'm having, or if we're using it with guests (which hasn't happened nearly as much as I'd like, but my house is in complete disarray at the moment, so I suppose I shouldn't complain...). I can't say too much though, as I do often enjoy kicking back with a nice big mug of whatever I feel like drinking at the time - usually not green, but anything else has been subjected to a mug at least once.

Pretty much!
I've actually begun running very low on oolong... been perusing different threads and websites to find exactly what I want. Though I have a much better idea now than I did a couple months ago. Boyfriend made me promise to finish off a fair amount of what I have already before making another order though, so hopefully I'll still be in time for the good spring teas!!

Only have a little bit left of the spring 2009 Diamond grade Tie Guan Yin from Norbu. Such a special tea, as I am reminded every time I brew it up. Mmmm.

I'm drinking an oolong now from a shop in my area in the Netherlands - the shop sold it as "most topest oolong" which didn't make a lot of sense to me - doesn't sound correct grammatically - which made me afraid to ask the sales lady because I didn't want to insult them!
The tea leaves are long, wiry, heavy roasted. The aroma of the dry leaf is pretty stunning: very strong impressions of cocoa and spices, cloves and cinnamon. The flavor of the tea when brewed is quite sweet, almost like licorice root, and I also get impressions of ginger. The colour of the brew is dark yellow with hints of green, but from the appearance of the leaf it definitely looked roasted.
I'd like to identify it. I'm not sure if I like it yet, but I'm curious to know what tea it might be! Could it be a Taiwanese oolong like an oriental beauty, or more likely a yancha or dancong? Help me oolong experts!

Yep:
Hope its clear enough, the picture is pretty dark. The leaves that look so dark in the pic are actually a bit lighter than they look, they're dark brown.

Second day of some wonderful 15 yr old TKY a friend gave me. I moved it to a pot today from grandpa style yesterday, had to actually pack the leaves into the pot. Felt like a drug addict burning hash tar on tin foil to get the last drop, my hands were even shaking a little bit. hahahah.

Thanks!
I'm still dubious about this tea. I think it might have been wonderful once but may have deteriorated because of bad storage. I'm not throwing it away yet, may give it another chance.
Does anyone have experience with the tea from the UK-based company
www.cantonteaco.com? I might order their Da Hong Pao or Milan Dancong.

They are resellers of the Jing Teashop based in China (not the UK Jing).

You can search for them on this forum to get some opinions.
