I picked up two of this sweet little cup when I went to the Steepster meetup at Radiance in NYC
Re: Newest Chapter! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XIII
Awww very sweet! I have some like that. Is someone going to do a write-up on the event? Or did I miss it?
Re: Newest Chapter! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XIII
Hi Chip, sorry for the delay. I bought them from purepuer also. Yup, I am not seeing any gaiwans in this motif at their website now. I should have bought one when I got the cups in DecemberChip wrote:
Oh oh, it might be too late if you were going to get it from purepuer. They list the cups only.
Or did you see it elsewhere, if so, where?
Yeah, perfect for oolongs.

The meetup was last Saturday. I didn't post it here since technically it's a competing forum. I suppose I should have, then we might have gotten a better turnout. Maybe we can put together a TeaChat one?

Nice fishy cup!
Yeah, that is too bad since I never saw it anywhere else and am betting it is no longer available. I talked to the one owner when I ordered. He seemed very helpful, give him a call!Putibung... wrote:Hi Chip, sorry for the delay. I bought them from purepuer also. Yup, I am not seeing any gaiwans in this motif at their website now. You have to wonder, how many people spit into those ...IPT wrote:I know this isn't technically a post about teapots or teacups, but it is about pottery objects which were an essential part of every teashop. I'm talking about the cuspidor. A lot of spitting goes on and these beautiful, albeit kinda icky utensils were important in keeping the floors clean. Well, cleaner. I guess it depends on the person's aim.

I know. I was thinking the same thing as I had my hand in one washing it out.Chip wrote:You have to wonder, how many people spit into those ...IPT wrote:I know this isn't technically a post about teapots or teacups, but it is about pottery objects which were an essential part of every teashop. A better view of my yunomi from ginkgo, already getting 'broken in' with the glaze crackles now emphasized by the stain of the tea
It looks good with tea in it too
and when you get to the bottom of your cup, you get this little detail to brighten up a sad situation (the empty cup is a little sad, when the tea was good)
This one is like seafoam--white with bits of blue breaking through like the rocks in this image

Tead Off, that's a great cooling bowl. I love Petr's works.
Re: Newest Chapter! Show Off Your Pots and Cups XIII
yesterday I drink a pu er (1993) , just to chage my green-tea long period of drinking !
Such a delight to smeel the odors and to taste this tea.
I uses for the first time a very little porcelain teapot (shino) and a shino bowl . When i put the warm tea inside the bowl, this one make noise : little "burb " : the glaze is singing , the little bubbles of the glaze just reacting because of the heat.
