Thank you ITP for taking those pics. I am glad that you use the chawan. Do you use it for MatCha? I was wondering if it is not too rough inside ( for Chasen...)

Thanks Jiri,
I almoust use Czech feldsphares- from this point of view it is greit country for potters- geologically it is very rich area. a lot of clays, felsphares, many different kaolins, clays useful like clayglazes. In this particular shino there are two felsphares (sodium and smaller amount of potassium), kaolin and white clay(kind of ball clay)
best
Petr

I do use it for matcha. The inside is not that rough. The outside sure is though. I love it! I showed it off in the shop and people just loved the glaze.

That looks so perfect against that dark wood--is that an antique tea tray.

Thank you.
Yes, the tray is an antique, but it is not a tea tray. I don't actually know what it's original purpose was, but I use it to set my cups on when drinking. I found it in the attic of an old house. It had a bird's nest in it.

Hi Entropye, The black one is bigger (around 220ml) and withouth cups...the one for you is waiting for the fire.

Herb_Master_ double walled fair cup was also my idea when you have expressed your requirement on fair cup to keep tea hot for longer time- kind of thermos cup. Yes, I will try combination of bark out side and nacre inside. But like nacre it appears only sometimes due to unpredictability of woodfiring process.
Petr, I hope you are nicely settled in at your new location, any progress on the fair cup front?

Although we are almost "nicely settled" everything went more slowly than we thought. So also our work in unfinished, cold (heating is still not ready) new studio is "belated"...I have fair cups as well as tea caddies in my own "I would like to work on" list. For now there is this shino fair cup. It was fired with Masakazu Kusekabe, Japanese potter, during first firing in new wood kiln build by our friend in his place, here in Czech R.

This yunnomi was fired in the same kiln during the event.
