Woah, weird! This one says "before proceeding any further, give this gaiwan to Drax."
They're very nice, though. That's an interesting green-blue...

thanks for the comments guys... my friend who i got this gaiwan with told me that its made in the 80s by a company in hebei tangshan pottery... they are focused more on kitchen ware and toilet ware ceramics... so hopefully ours was in the kitchenware department
here are 2 teacups (they are both the same) i got from a trip to hong kong on december 2010... got this from sun sing tea shop... its a tiny 20-30ml 70s-80s tea cup... i regret now that i did not get 4 to at least have a set

Does white get stained?
My white cup (porcelain) is getting some stains already, and I couldn't wash it away...

Nope.
But I wash after each day with a micro fibre cloth. Just in warm water. Every so often if there's a tough stain I'd just use vinegar. All these pieces are fully glazed though.

+1
i used to be stumped by the stains. then i realize rubbing it with a cloth under warm water totally cleans it up! not had to use vinegar as of yet.

I must admit I can remember the last time I used vinegar. Micro fibre cloth works really well and seems to clean the gaiwans gently but quickly. Even after 4 gongfu sessions over the period of a day

Many thanks.....I dont NEED them all but I love switching it up and they are all much loved. I really like plain white gaiwans as they frame the tea so beautifully with no distraction.

Fantastic older set odarwin!
Zensugi, you make a compelling argument for white ... a picture tells a thousand words! Lovely white collection, did you mention where you got them?

The 2 small ones are teagallery. a large one and med are also teagallery. Then the remaining big 2 , pitcher and cups are from china cha dao on eBay who got them for me from a JDZ place that makes the best gaiwans. In fact one of them was through DTH but sourced from the same factory for a custom order.
They were left plain white for me on order and a limited run which all sold out now.....I bought most of them.
I just find the shape of the gaiwan beautiful on its own and I dont think it needs a picture in the same way I like plain clay pots. Just my personal taste though. And I love staring in to a plain white gaiwan full of leaves.
