I enjoyed your video this morning and am feeling quite silly so I thought I'd try to make you smile. Don't worry tea purists, he is modeling an old whisk i dont use anymore.

He looks quite indignant, I should probably stop abusing him.
Or I should travel all over the world and post new photos of him in exotic locals every morning while modeling the latest in tea sifters.
one or the other.

“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”

Craft stores. You can find really fun stuff there. Places like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabric, or A.C. Moore's are bound to have buckles, feathers, beads, fake flowers, and pretty much most of the craft stuff you could ever think of owning. If not there, Amazon or E-bay.clareandromeda wrote:ohhhh or a puritan buckle! Where does one shop for such ridiculous things?woozl wrote:Time to decorate the chasen hat.

Tea-isms. quotes on matcha chawan. ichi go, ichi e
excerpts from aoyama wahei's articles in english.
"In other words, it fits the spirit of 一期一会, or the idea of "all is only once in a lifetime." You are never the same. And so, at that point in time, let us embrace the time we have. Such is the "spirituality" of tea, which is, in my opinion, the most important aspect of the Way of Tea.
If such is the case, the chawan is a special item indeed, as it is the only item that is passed between the master of the house and the guest. It is the bridge that links two hearts, two beings, together in harmony, to appreciate that very moment in time. Such is the beauty of the chawan. It holds spiritual value, and thus, a good chawan is elevated to another dimension. A good chawan should be not only physically beautiful, but spiritually beautiful. And with the spirit of Sen Sooku in the above example of the Choson bowl, that particular bowl will work as a chawan.
Furthermore, the chawan's spirituality is what makes it an extremely challenging item for the potter to make. In Japan, the chawan is no ordinary vessel, and to carve the kodai foot-ring to perfection is one of the most difficult tasks that faces a potter (spinning the bowl, in other words, is a quite simple and carefree process). "
amazing and insightful. more tea-isms.

Thank you, bonjiri for the lovely photos and lovely words. I think tea is about sharing a table and making good relatedness too. Sometimes I wonder what Lu Yu would say about some things I encounter in this world of tea. The art of graciousness is about making people feel welcome, in many many cultures
Seeker/Jim... sorry to hear about your mother. May best wishes go with you both now.
