Not as big as it looks:
6" x 2.5"
Thanks everyone!
Seeker, I'll try adding the saran wrap, thanks!
This is exactly what I have been doing.Seeker wrote:So, I cut a rectangle of saran wrap, folded it in half to make perfect size square, put the matcha in its can, lay the saran over the can, apply cheap plastic lid over the saran, and voila, tight seal.

Thanks for sharing the family photo, Luthier!
My Bizen journey is a new journey which began with this Yohen (changed by the fire) kyusu. You either love it or hate it I think, I happen to love it. This is a new piece. It works incredibly well. It took me several months to build up the nerve to use it.

I recently found this little treasure Bizen Yohen Houjin (for gyokuro and small holding only 3-4 ounces I think). It seemed like such a perfect partner to the kyusu, that I went for it. It arrived last week and I have to say I am thrilled with it. It is around 50 years old. Or at least claimed to be ...

As a bonus, I picked up this one as well, I believe it is from the same collection and is around 30 years old. It is quite precocious and adorable holding a mere 2ish ounces.

Chip - man you manage to find some great stuff. You must have quite a collection by now - do you store in an area where much of it can be displayed? Do you have photos of everything in your collection?Chip wrote:Thanks for sharing the family photo, Luthier!

Thanks, the Yohen Kyusu is fantabulous!!!
Tokyo B, virtually all the teaware is on display, many on new Ikea DVD shelving that is great for showing pieces individually.
The tiny houhin is about 2 3/8" W X 2" H (sans lid). On a good day it will hold almost 2.5 ounces to the tippy top, but I will likely brew 2 ounce or less steeps with it. It is the smallest brewing vessel in da house.
