Not as big as it looks:
6" x 2.5"
Thanks everyone!

Seeker, I'll try adding the saran wrap, thanks!

This is exactly what I have been doing. :D Except I used a cheap plastic baggie instead of saran wrap (saran wrap and I get along like a sackful of cats). It seems to work... it's just of questionable beauty or elegance. ;)

Luthier, I would love to see your whole collection in one photo. I bet it would be quite overwhelming!

Thanks for sharing the family photo, Luthier!

My Bizen journey is a new journey which began with this Yohen (changed by the fire) kyusu. You either love it or hate it I think, I happen to love it. This is a new piece. It works incredibly well. It took me several months to build up the nerve to use it.

I recently found this little treasure Bizen Yohen Houjin (for gyokuro and small holding only 3-4 ounces I think). It seemed like such a perfect partner to the kyusu, that I went for it. It arrived last week and I have to say I am thrilled with it. It is around 50 years old. Or at least claimed to be ...

As a bonus, I picked up this one as well, I believe it is from the same collection and is around 30 years old. It is quite precocious and adorable holding a mere 2ish ounces.

Chip - man you manage to find some great stuff. You must have quite a collection by now - do you store in an area where much of it can be displayed? Do you have photos of everything in your collection?
Thanks for sharing

Chip, I appreciate your taste in teawares AND I love Bizen, so this shouldn't come as a surprise, but... I am just staggered by that yohen kyuusu of yours. What a beauty!

Chip, the yohen kyusu is really great. Very much my taste. This looks like it was made in a climbing kiln. Do you know?

Thanks, the Yohen Kyusu is fantabulous!!! :D

Tokyo B, virtually all the teaware is on display, many on new Ikea DVD shelving that is great for showing pieces individually.

The tiny houhin is about 2 3/8" W X 2" H (sans lid). On a good day it will hold almost 2.5 ounces to the tippy top, but I will likely brew 2 ounce or less steeps with it. It is the smallest brewing vessel in da house.

The Houjin is a shape I really want to explore! Just seems to make so much sense...
