Re: The Art of Wu Wei Hai, Aaron Fisher
Sorry for the lack of posts. I have, of course, been painting but have been very busy. Here are some paintings that are semi-un-tea-related

Cloud-hidden, whereabouts unknown (painting)

One of my favorite poems:
Beneath the pines,
I asked the boy.
He said the master had gone herb-picking in the mountains:
Cloud-hidden, whereabouts unkown

The Zen of Pines (painting)
Here is another one of a pine, more like a bonsai but in the same style as the last one. I hope you enjoy it.

The wind soughing the pines (painting)
This one says "Natural". It is about going with the flow, the way the pines always do. The boiling of water in the kettle has always been likened to the 'wind soughing the pines'.

This is my tea journey; and where I am at now, as well as how far I have yet to travel...

Without Anyone (painting)
A place without anyone, alone. Without anyone to see it, can it exist?

Dear Aaron,
while in a cafe this morning, I saw your book, Tea Wisdom, on the shelf available for the patrons to read. It is such a wonderful book. I did not have time to read it all, but it evoked the same feelings in me that I get when looking at your artwork. It was the most blessed way to start my morning. Also, while reading, I noticed a large difference between what the tea masters wrote and what those who merely admired tea masters wrote. The former impressed upon me that tea is to be enjoyed as it is, and as it is a part of things, but the latter spoke in majestic absolutes, as if tea can only truly be experienced correctly if one is a tea master.
I thank you for your book; I am sad that I do not own it, but glad that others may see it. I wish I could have a copy so that I could hand it to somebody when they ask me why I drink tea; I get that question frequently. People generally don't seem satisfied when I offer them a cup in reply. I think your book provides a generally more accessible way to answer this question since the answers are written in plain text.

Thank you friends for your inspirational words.
Indeed, the art of tea is artless. In one chapter of the Upanishads a father tells his son that the Ultimate, Brahman, is like clay: when you really, truly understand the clay in one pot, you understand them all. Your meaning cannot possibly be my meaning, but in finding our meanings we understand each other.
In the end, tea is just leaves in water. Whether you drink it in paradise with the best of tea and teaware, or oh-so-simply the spirit of change is within you.
"Imagine your life without tea, if it is any different you have yet to understand tea." ---Rikyu
May you be fulfilled
this day
May your tea remind you
we are one

Issue eight of The Leaf is up, and free to read. This explains the lack of posting here lately. I have been painting, though. I will put up some new work soon. I have some shows currently running in the Western U.S. and Europe, if you are interested.

Re: The Art of Wu Wei Hai, Aaron Fisher

I just wanted to let you all know that my newest book is out. It is actually the first book I ever wrote, long ago when I was living in India. It is a wonderful spiritual guide and source of inspiration. Though it is not about tea, I am sure many here will find it a good read.
This is from the back cover:
Faces of the Master is a powerful guide-both as a cover-to-cover path to fulfillment or in search of a brief insight taken from a chapter here or there. It was written from the center of a deep spiritual journey, and conveys both the stillness, power and insights, as well as the challenges, trials and tribulations such a life encompasses. This book is the recognition of a true path, walked by a real seeker. Its beauty lies in its scope, both poetic and spiritual. And for that alone it is timeless.
