Hope that you can help me to get some hints on this teapot. Is it a modern one? Handmade,or Mould, or Slipcast? Which kind of clay? I would appreciate every information. Thank you for your help! ^^ Sorry for the bad light.









Clay: Hong Ni?
Size: 300 ml
Age/Year: ?
Walls: Medium i would say...
Pour: Fast, but sometimes Oolong leaves slow the process

Info: I can feel a little dimple inside where the handle ends, but can´t see anything. The Water Seal is not so good. The sound is metallic but very short and low pitch.

It's of those 2000s~ old Yixing pieces imitation. I don't think it's a slip-cast, looks like a mould-used one.

i thought it would be nice to post up a little on these pots just incase anyone has the extreme good fortune to come by any of them



commemorative pots of chinese tea house, singapore. was commissioned and made under the supervision of artisan Xu Sihai in '89, and publicly made available for purchase in '92. 100 pieces of each clay type were made. Ru-ding design, top notch old clay, fantastic firing. the zhuni version was first to sell out, the pear skin zini was the most iconic, made from a blend of zhuni, zini and then coarse duan-ni as particles to give the pear texture, high fired. definitely pots that i will enjoy the usage of, for many years to come.

Xu Si-hai is a legendary collector who also makes pots. Have collected thousands of pots, and each pot maybe be comparable to Chinese man's 10-year income

hmm.. no idea actually, not actively seeking, but perhaps if fate permits i'll be more than willing to collect a set of the first gen too.

currently seeking contentment and enjoyment, drinking more tea and putting every pot to use..
