I obviously have a problem. Admitting it is the first step right?

Finally a natsume I really like!

Check out this page, many nice natsume, chaire, and chashaku with boxes, for reasonable prices. It is all in Japanese, and the photos aren't perfect, but there are some beauties...

The people at Jing Tea Shop sure do know how to pick out cups I like. Too bad they don't do the same with Yixing pots. :(

Depends if they're second-hand or new. If they're new, then the price are probably pretty reasonable by Japanese standards.

I really like that fubuki natsume with the dragonflies. {dreams}

Well, for a one-of-a-kind, high-quality, handmade chawan, natsume, or chaire that could last for generations, I think under $200 is reasonable, and under $100 a bargain.

I suppose we are children of the mass-production age. I guess ya get what ya pay for, and there are indeed plastic natsume out there for under 20 bux.

I'm by no means rich, but I'd rather have fewer high-quality things than a whole lot of mediocre things, and I've pretty much always thought that way...

Totally agree with you Joel. My favorite daily chawan is a one of a kind, hand thrown and altered anagaman wood fired 15 dollar beauty. ;)

You have impeccable taste sir and my comment was not meant to cast any doubts on either your taste or your sense of reasonable. The word 'odd' is a compliment in my world. ;D

Point taken, "odd," as in "distinguished; unique, remarkable; renowned, extraordinary," Image
