Wow! psychedelic! Ha. Love that glaze.

Here's the one I finally got to use this morning. Beautiful glaze, well balanced. A two hand chawan, (for me,) but meditative, as most hagi tends to be, IME.

Whoops! I should have posted this in the "OFFICIAL" hagi thread ! So I moved it here. :)

Cory, nice feeling and look to your work. How does one go about buying something from you? Or, getting you to make something on commission? You can PM me with an email address if you want to keep things more private. Thanks.

i noted the crookedness of the painting in the photo and since adjusted it even less parallel to the floor.
You're a wild man.

i love this yunomi! it's big, like 12 ounces big, but that just means it's versatile right?

It's so interesting, so tall and slender, really seems like it should be more for beer than for tea... but that might be the (hard) cider talkin'...

Besides , I have no idea where anyone could find a Kyusu like the one I've got .

Thanks for sharing.
I negotiated for this Kyusu for over a week .
I found it while at an estate sale where I'd shown up to look at a couple of high quality lithographs .

It was late , I was tired (so was the owner of the estate - he told me that I was the only person who was interested in his 'old stuff') and wound up buying what looked like a fine print ( glass was dirty & I didn't want to tax the owner for some windex , towels & etc . ) for a give-away price .

He asked if I was interested in any antique tools & led me out to the garage , where I spotted the Kyusu , behind some stuff. I looked at & bought a couple of nice old tools & started to negotiate for the teapot . The man was kind enough to understand I would buy it , but I was going to take a few days , and he kept his promise to hold it until we could agree on the price .

I kept coming by his house every other day , and would spend a little money each time .
I sent him customers with dough , and helped him re-price some Persian rugs & silks & other do-dads ( he was asking like $100 per rug ) that I knew about .
He was thankful for some help selling his antiquities .

On the last day , I finally asked him to quote a price that he would truly be comfortable with . When he did , I got real serious & told him that I was not comfortable with the price .
I offered him 20 percent more than he'd asked .
He laughed , we shook hands & that was that .

And yes , I left feeling like a pirate .

A pirate with a silver teapot .

-and the print turned out to be an original .

True story .

go figure .

you're right, i'm thinking that's what he had in mind. i know he likes good beer, and it is perfect for that. i decided that i had to test it's 12oz capabilities on some dogfishhead india brown 'wuyi oolong'.

woah, boy howdy, my tea jus foamed up...and my laptop's screen has massive amounts of dust built up on it that i'm just now aware of. i'll get on that right away...
