You have a metal natsume? Pics?
I wouldn't call it a natsume -

awh and you had my hopes up there for a minute. I was imagining a natsume that looked like a normal natsume, just etched out of a block of stainless. oh how that would be sooo nice.

Well, you could always see if one of the US teachatters or another friend would be willing to act as a go-between and ship them on to you.
It is awful of them not to ship outside the US, though!

It is kinda small, but I like it. Actually I got it at the Field museum while on vacation(I'm still there) They had a suprisingly large selection of teaware

Hmm... that's a thought. Thanks for the idea!
It's a certain amount of bother, though, not to mention expense (although at least I could reimburse the latter).
OTOH I could offer something as a TeaSwap... mail to me in Canada the Utsuwa chataku-s I order, and you can be the proud owner of
this cool tea-thing! All I'd have to do is decide on the tea-thing.

Oooo, one more reason to go to the Field Museum. I'll bet the
Art Institute has some killer teaware too. Are those lions in front of the
Art Institute or fu dogs?

*sighs in exasperation*
They are lions, Sal. Big lions. They will not fit on your tea tray.

I have a six of his pieces and can counter that conjecture with fact. All but one is perfectly functional - my chasen is just fine and I use them often. He uses shino style glazes and hand altering after throwing, which gives a rough _appearance_. I wouldn't expect anyone to buy one unless they liked that style, it is very different, but I wouldn't stop someone from buying it over concerns for chasen either.
Now here's a Strommen piece that really grabs me. *will not buy, will not buy*
Gorgeous though.

There was one that was on auction that just finished yesterday that I really wanted but was outbid since it ended while I was at work.
Probably the nicest one I've seen come up for auction. Hope he's got more in that red glaze. I like it a lot!!
