c,

Where do you fire?... Who fires the kilns?

Does this kiln fire even top to bottom?

Just curious,
Michael

i load & fire this kiln. it was built by a person who thought they knew how to build a kiln. also i clean shelves too. hehe

after a bit of modifications, like closing the exit flue and taking out BTU-sucking bag wall. it fires even. i can drop the cone 10s top and bottom at the same time. this was an earlier firing with bagwall in, after i took the bagwall out it fires even.

a while back i was using draw rings. now, no rings.

usually a slow start. usually fires in about 7-8 hours. about cone 8, i start misting in water/soda mixture then wait for cone 10, then i cool reduce with keawe charcoal and a little water.

the geil i fire at a different location fires evenly.

Hi Cory,

Idea for kiln firing video - I think it'd be super cool to see the glowing pieces

right after firing (I hope I've got that right - don't know much about firing).

Also, I'm sure that whatever video you make will be awesome!

Best,

Jim
