Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Nice to get a tea gift on Christmas! My wife game me a zojirushi thermal carafe as I was complaining to her, she is not a tea person, that I couldn't properly gongfu without one!
Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas to you too Noonie!
Actually I once received a Zojirushi thermos from the same sister-in-law. It's an excellent brand, I'm sure you'll like it a lot.

Gyokuro from our vendor member Xell, brewed casually on this busy holiday morning. But came out delicious!
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Having Organic Kirishima Sencha from O-Cha today. A tasty example of a chumushi sencha. Great stuff for the price.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Currently drinking Asamushi Sae Midori from O-cha. This is definitely a tea that benefits from tweaking the brewing parameters.

Wuzhi Shan green from Hainan. Me and my mom both felt the cha qi in a big way...and my mom drinks a lot of black tea. Nice sweet taste to it. Like a touch of tropical fruit maybe.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
From Hirumaen, a prize winning sencha called Ki-no-Shizuku. Wow! Delicious, full flavored Asamushi, giving a wet mouthfeel with tongue tingling and long finish. Very little astringency when brewed with 60C temp. Beautiful long leaves as a quality asamushi should be.

Looks excellent. I will need to check out Hirumaen.

His teas are not for everyone. I found this one and the Temomicha (the less expensive ones) to be outstanding.Chip wrote:Looks excellent. I will need to check out Hirumaen.

Maiko Shuppin sencha. Nice stuff. I would not rate it as high as the Hirumaen sencha that I posted previously, but still a very good asamushi. You can see the difference in the leaves.

Korean Jungjak from Tea Trekker brewed in my Seong-il Onggi hobin - a great combination. I'll probably run out of tea just when I perfect the parameters so I should probably order more proactively.
