Love that simple shape, design, and lovely glaze.
Fortunately, I spent some time today shooting super close up macros of my 'granite' yunomi so I am well fortified against the many beautiful pots and cups that are urging me to buy more.

I'm so happy I picked them up, they're beautiful and delightful to use. There's still a few turquoise mugs up on his Etsy site, definitely pick one up if you get the chance. Mine's quickly becoming a the first one for which I reach (unless I'm using an in-mug infuser... it's a little too tall for the mug!!)

Ok peeps I did it. I bought a tetsubin. After maligning them for about 2 years, how heavy they are how they can rust, etc, I found one that stole my heart. Ya know in the smaller size they are not that heavy. This one is very sweet and at around 18oz in volume, easy to hold. I love the curvy handle and the soft color and subtle design. After all what Japanese teaware collection can be complete without a tetsubin and at 50% off, well I had to.

I finally ordered one of those beautiful mugs, and a turquoise yunomi - I am very excited! Now for the waiting

Hm, this thread is dominated by beautiful Asian style tea wares, but I would like to show off my newest Western-style cup. (I drink all types of tea, but since I inherited so many Japanese tea cups I literally do not know how many I have, I only buy Western-style ones. This was started one day when I realized I was drinking a French black tea blend from a pink Japanese cup with gold cranes.)

Beautiful! I have noticed little Western wares around these parts, but I'm going to inherit British-style teacups aplenty one day, so I've been trying to appreciate them more lately.

Aya, that cup is stunning. I don't have that many western style teacups, but the ones I have are pretty special.
V - how can you bad-mouth cast iron teapots if you've never had one before now???

Welcome to the dark side.

Yup that is a fair question! I have handled larger sizes in stores, and found them very hard to manage. Also read about the rust problems. But yeah I'm converted.

Wow everyone!!! Congrats and thanks for sharing all these gorgeous pieces, many from our own TeawareArtisians!!!! Such lovelies, we are so blessed to have such a talented group grace our forum.
I also am partial to turquoises and blues, reminds me sooo much of the ocean.

How i wish tetsubins were made of brass
Where I live, even stainless steel can form rust. What more cast iron
